Yours or the VL? (Bottom end knock)
For sale section. eBay. For the ECU. Wreckers for the BBM. There's a tech doco about converting to BBM. post1181598.html#p1181598 ford-4l-and-6-cylinder-f1/half-way-through-bbm-conversion-t96111.html Have a good read of those. I did mine with all the info off those 2.

I think ill stick with my plan I haven't mentioned but what im planning is get the lane the way I want with with easy bolt on stuff without doing any conversions then get a ef-el ute and work the engine.

Im curious as well about speaker mounts as ive read on another forum that people have found other speaker mounts in there car and was wondering if my lane would have hidden extras somewhere?

Haha, lots of redlining takes its toll pretty quick..
That's the whole point of this site, do whatever you want your way Don't know exactly what you mean with the speaker mounts. I don't know of anything more than the factory setups being used from factory... What sort of mounts have you read about? Front or rear speakers?

What ive read is for the el but has that concept been taken from the ea to el is what I want to know. I know the el has tweakers in the dash and a 8" hole in the parcel shelf frame for a free hanging sub I havent checked for the sub because I cbf. But are there any hidden holes where speakers can be mounted like the rear doors or something.

Later (eb on ?)premium sound had little tweeters in the dash, under the vent lookin parts on the plastic panel across the windscreen.
There was also an option for a 8" sub in the centre of the parcel shelf. Should be able to spot it through the boot. I'm not 100% on memory or what the NAs got.

On my thread there is a section about dash removal.
I have a pic of removing that panel, use it for reference to undo the 2 2.5mm Allen head screws and remove the panel and have a look. I think only the ea or eb11 onwards (the ones with 6" front speakers) had the tweeters.

Found it so do I need to do what you did or can I just remove them?

Lol. Just undo and remove ONLY THE PLASTIC PANEL..
Don't have to remove the whole dash lol. If you have premium sound there will be tweeters under those 2 vents on either side. Ultimately though it wont really matter, it's not a very accessible spot to put aftermarket speakers. A decent set of 2 it 3 way 6" speakers in the front doors is a good upgrade. Check your front doors by removing the door trim and see if you have 4" or 6" speakers. If you have 4s it is a bit of customising to get 6" to fit. Might be better to get some decent 4" to keep it easy.
