If rangas J3 tune worked on his it will work on yours... Theres not much difference..

well there is. lol mine is fine tuned for MY car, MY intake, MY exhaust, MY head, well you get the idea lol. but as I said, I can richen it up a bit til you get a dyno run then it can be fine tuned

Aah, have you played with the tune yourself Ranga? I didn't realize that lol.. What sorta torque dose it produce @ 3800?

What do you mean by tractive effort?

What intake, exhaust and head work do you have? Fine tuning wise it is for your car but is should still work on a similar setup. For example the chip I have with the cam for my engine is for a sports exhaust, intake and the cam. But it's not like I'm gonna have to have the identical intake and exhaust the original car had...

Sounds like this may be the cam for you though.

It's pretty flat in Alice but when I lived in port pirie cruising through the hills made me feel the need for more torque..

Yeah probably best. Because theres no way of tuning it to my car without a dyno is there? Obviously ive never done this so I dont know.

I tuned it myself lol
tractive effort is what the dyno reads for torque, not sure how to convert it correctly and didn't get the dyno to put the actual torque on the screen. torque peaks @ around 2500 then starts dropping off.
I have 4480's, ba intake, tickford head with polished exh ports and chambers. didn't touch the intakes cause I just threw it on, my ported head is in the shed waiting to be loved again

You use the dyno to find your specs, like air fuel ratio and such (not 100% on the other off by heart) then use a computer to connect and adjust the tune on the chip, plug it back in and see how it runs. Slow and steady wins the race.

That's as far as I'm aware, never done it myself but read a little, Ranga can you confirm/correct this?

I was thinking tractive effort sounded like a technical term for torque lol.

Probably the main one too will be adjusting the tune for a log manifold instead of the BBM (fuel maps?) yeah?

yeah to the intake difference, but wont be too much difference.
as for tuning yourself, you can buy a wideband controller and programmer from t.i.performance.com.au that logs your afrs, map etc and you can tune it yourself. but you do need to know what your doing, I use a techedge controller in my car and have had the programmer for a couple of years now

I gotta get all this stuff for myself I think, fine tuning plus when I have the V8 running it will be good too.

I'm pretty good with computers and electrics..

Do you know someone with a dyno Ranga?

Unfortunately there is only 1 dyno in Alice and I don't know the bloke that well..

This stuff can be expensive paying retail prices so take that into account too Darcy,

Theres no real point in a wide band for me is there as I dont know what im doing I think ill leave it up to you as you've been doing it for years. As to your previous post before lane. The coil does stay cool im getting some oil and new plugs on tuesday as I need to replace oil and im looking at splitfire plugs. After that I will hopefully have enough for rangas cam and chip then later on about 2 weeks after fitting them do a dyno send off the sheet and wait for the right tune to be set up. After that ive done all I want and will no longer need to mod apart from a cai.

That's lucky Ranga, Im probably gonna have to get at least 1 run for mine when it's all going again.. Gonna cost soo much...

That's a solid plan Darcy, can't wait to see the results of this cam too.

if you are only getting a power run, should cost around $100 give or take.
