done the head gasket much nicer now, decided to go with a kenwood sound system as everything ive bought was half price, was still overheating so replaced the thermostat again with a genuine ford one and by god she stays cool until i go up a hill then the temp rises. so now going to replace the radiator as there are hot spots warm spots then cold spots so she is blocked good well bad but you get my point.
the next thing to do when money allows is to get a new radiator, catalytic converter, extractors and install the head unit once i pick it up.

Good stuff the head gasket went well.
Have you tried flushing out the radiator with a hose? Remove and turn it upside down then stick a hose in the top (now lower) hose and blast it till it fills and comes out the top.

when i had it out i spent about 6 hours flushing it out and it still came out brown its also got some damage and its aluminium also ordered a copper core one today so should be here soon.
the timing was out as well but that's fixed whoever set it last had it set at ign instead of tdc so its sparked at the end of the prong thing on the rotor so it was 5 degrees out.

um the spark is meant to happen at ign. not TDC. spark happens before TDC. did you put the car into diagnostic mode before you set the timing?.....

like I said, did you put it into diagnostic mode first? They may have had the timing set right. and now you have mucked it up

I've adjusted timing in and out of diagnostic mode and never had an issue..
But I do it mostly by ear. Old school. ECU adjusts itself anyway so as long as its close it can compensate.

did it by ear it runs better where it is and a little cooler put a genuine ford thermostat it and she runs cold then i drive upa hill and the temp goes up because of radiator.

Must be a pretty serious hill.. I remember the southern outlet south out of hobart used to overheat a few old cars...
How's the weather down in the pubic patch lately? Haven't been there for 10 years..

i am in launceston ive always called it the southern outlet because ive grown up with people calling it that. its the one leaving launceston ive never paid much attention so if its called the southern outlet or not i dont know ill admit im wrong if i am.
on another note radiator didnt turn up and my nephews birthday is on sunday so i now need to take the noisy droning camry that has a sub and 4 speakers but no headunit good thing i have 2 spare. ill use the old one out of the lane which is a pioneer only downside is it doesnt play cds on a good note it takes aux. question for you all as well i have a fusion 10" active tube sub the one in the camry which has the amp built in but if wanted to could i take the amp from the sub and use it on my rear speakers? also what is the benefit of running an amp for speakers?

Yeah it is a different one we are talking about each but pretty much same. Big uphill highway..
Running an amp for speakers makes them louder, clearer and a little more tone adjustable with the amp settings. I'm not 100% but the amps in those 10" tubes are pretty small and are a monoblock. Only one pair of speaker out on it. Have a look and if it has 2 pair coming out then it would probably work.
