I was looking through some JMM stuff and noticed my extractors match the description and look the exact same as the ones JMM use just differnt paint. Ill get up a pic of what I did to my air box tomorrow.

Nah, JMM headers come out very distinctly and evenly and also go further under the car.

Search in google for Jim mock headers and go to images. You'll see what I mean.

The curve yours looks interesting though, can you get a couple of pics from a different angle like looking back from behind the PS pump.

They may just be a custom/handmade made tri Y set like mine by the looks, usually the big brands like genie and pacemaker have a plate welded to them. There a quite few brands out there.

Add your intake pic to the show us your intake thread too while your at it.

Gonna be good to see more progress.

The intake I have is temporary until I get some pvc pipe to make up a proper intake that runs to the bumper.

Another extra you can get is an XH ute snorkel, they are heaps bigger and bolt on.. I think I have one at the shed if you want it i can probably post it to you easy enough..

Fiend dose phenolic spacers like those ebay ones, (phenolic is the type of plastic i believe) they are pretty good apparrently.

Yeah that would be great because ive only found 1 down here and the wrecker wants $200 for it that just f**k criminal. Ive never heard of phenolic ill have to look into it but would it be worth getting seeing as it increases low end torque like I want?

With the airbox im looking at using some pvc pipe and my heat gun to heat it to the point where I can squish it down to fit in my hole I made then run it through the hole to get to the indicator bulb run it down under the headlights cut a hole in a plastic thing that I have no idea what its for and then run the pipe tothe bumper it will be easier to showpics when I do it

Good and bad news about this month bad news rego on the lane and carmy are here. Good news I just put ebc green stuff on the lane and after ive paid the rego I can start putting money into my celica. Might do a thread as I need to pull the engine out and do the piston rings and bearing. As long as its okay with the moderator/s.

Okay ive had a look at phenolic and its what circuit boards are made from. I dont think that could work as well as the one I found but I dont know as I cant compare the 2. If the one im looking at works like it should then good because I know with circuit boards they can get quite hot but they do cool down quickly when not being used.

that's the whole point of it. to absorb the heat from the head and not transfer it to the intake manifold

Afaik it dosnt have to be specifically phonolic material, that's just the stuff that Fiend uses to make his.

Essentially whatever material the one you found uses will do the same thing.

As Ranga said the point is to stop heat transferring from the head to tye manifold so easily and reduce temperatures.
