Nice setup you have there. The only thing i don't like about installing them is mounting the coil.
They really do need to revise the coil mounting system. |

I got some 80mm x 10mm alloy flat bar.....cut to size, file & dress, drill holes in required spots, polish it, roughen the underside, fit to inner guard using 2, M6 s/s csk allen-socket screws, nyloc nuts and panel washers, and prior to fitting put a few blobs of gutter sealant under the plate to help fight the vibes. That is about the only way to make it compact.....with out making a whole bracket.

I ran my ED in the dyno comp today.....got 3rd for the I6 N/A ...was beaten by an FG XR6 ute and a BF XR6 ute.....all had exhaust mods, tune, and stuff like that.
Also put the wifes TJ Magna 3.5 V6 auto on there too, it is stocko.....and the a/c was on... The ED made 204 rwhp and the TJ made 164 fwhp. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Good to see you cracked the 150kw/200hp mark, cjh. Great effort considering the mod's done

Nice results dude! I take it the ICE ignition gear has helped a fair bit?
I put a set of their leads on my Eb Ghia I6, runs a lot better since fitment. I also have a full electric ignition system built by them to go onto my torana's turbo 6 when i get around to getting it running. Cheers ToranaGuy

OK, the AFR guage is fitted now, ready for more aggressive tuning, might try and give it a new fuel map tonite.......can see the laptop better at night than during the day.

I made a new fuel map via the piggy-back ECU, while driving and checking the AFR.
Now, the fuel map is between 20% and 6% leaner than the factory fuel map. Also noticed that about 2,200-2,000rpm and above on 0% throttle, the injectors are off.....just like the old Bosch LE2 EFI system.

I've updated the injectors today. I fitted some 24 lb Ford Racing ones,(original are 18 lb), and an extra fuel filter ( Ryco Z200 ) just before the injector rail. I made the fuel filter mount too.
I spent about 2 hours road tuning the engine to get a good AFR most of the way through the rev range. Is now between 20% and 30% leaner than factory ECU setting. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

After driving it tonight on the way home from work ( 20*C & 84% ), it definately feels a little more torquey, so, i'll need to take it to the dyno and see how it goes. The humidity here has been in the high 70's to 100% in the last few days.....damn rain....and lots of it.

why did you put bigger injectors on it when it was already overfuelling and you had to lean up the fuel maps?

They were brand new and cheap, $265 for 8.....and they have a better spray pattern....and leaves scope for cam upgrades later.

Haven't done much lately.....but I scored an EF XR6 cam for $20.
I was looking at how rough they are between the lobes & journals....so I mounted the cam in my lathe, put the angle grinder in the tool post and set to it. It may make it lighter by about 50 grams, ( i'll try to catch what I can of the swarf/grit and weigh it), but it will relieve any stress risers.
