Just remember they only fit cars with a log manifold, it won't fit if the car has a BBM in place, as it is too tall.

Always good to read what you're doing mr cjh, cool custom stuff and machining. Everyone's favourite exhaust has a new home LOL. I might be getting and ED too, and swaping a little bit over from my EA. A nice green ED XR6, just have to see it in the flesh tomorrow. I need to post my EA dyno runs sometime, and start one of these garage threads.

Those machining pics remind me of my trade days playing on grinders, lathes, mills, horizontal borers etc. I also remember an old toolmaker who showed me the art of ultra slow turning by machining a peice of mild steel, plenty of coolant, a good sharp peice of HSS and getting a water mirror finish.
Anyway back on topic. I like the dump pipe on your ED cjh. I've considered it on my V8 wagon as do have that depth of note that you mentioned. Also, your spring compressor is far better than the crap Chinese G clamp style ones you get from toy shops. I love your work. |

Yep, that slow machining speed and good quality soluble oil thats mixed a little on the rich side, and a piece of HSS thats had the edge honed on some 1200 grit wet & dry, and you get a finish like chrome. Done that before. I haven't hooked up a coolant set up yet to mine, but i'll get there. Thanks for the comment. I reckon you could get away with having 2 dumpers on your wagon, 1 system each side.

Remember the brackets I was talking about that were in the EA, well, now they live in the ED.
I got some M8x1.25mm flanged nuts, welded some tie-wire onto them so I could get them into position, ( the EA had studs sticking out, while the ED only had holes), and bolted them in. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Good stuff man, good thinking with the wire on the nuts.
Just now you have the wire sticking out and flapping arround, not that it matters but are you going to cut the wire off as far back as you can go? Cheers Josh |

well joshie i wouldn't be gettin you to do any work on my boat..... i wouldn't spit on 304 for a boat. 316 = basic food grade (not medical) 316 = marine grade 304 = poor corrosion resistance.
and 10mm cuts from 4140 ? i simply don't believe it even with any normal caride tips. would have to be round tips and even then i doubt it. although i'm open to being proven wrong. i've seen people loose teeth from taking 6mm cuts in plastic let alone 4140. awsome work cjh, can't say i've met alot of mechanics that double as craftsmen
