well, here's one for you, less of a mod, more of a clean up job. everyone knows how f**k the e series rear quarter windows get, so i decided during the week that i will clean them over this weekend.

so i have sanded back the quarter windows. i then decided i really should do the rear window trim. and the side trims... and the bumper trims... and the aerial surround... and the rear number plate light.

so i have the car half masked up atm.

unfortunately its just started raining so i have had to wheel the car into the garage and stop for a while.

Where its up to now:

I just think this on sums up our house perfectly!

who's a little paranoid about overspray?

good thing you stopped when it was raining, even if under cover. Ive learnt my lesson, twice now, the paint will turn white on ya because of the moisture in the air

you can see the last photo with the windscreen peeled back, that was to drive it into the garage, even that was really weird not being able to see properly!

they came out awesome actually. sanding them took most of the s**t out of them, but they are a tad pitted, so i couldnt get that out. If you really wanted them glass smooth, then i would probly (and i am not expert by any means) run a coat of filler over the top of them and then paint over that.

pics of finished are coming over the long weekend, it seems it takes a f**k long time to unmask a whole car when you only have about 20minutes a night to yourself! :(

Isnt there some products you can get off member Aurora 98 specifically for trims instead of sanding and painting?

i am fairly sure his stuff is more to just preserve and make the trims look good. i dont think it works on shagged ones, and lets face it, 95% of them out there are shagged

Mine are in that 95%
The rear quarters have so much pitting in them its not funny, even 40 grit sandpaper has a tough time bringing the pitting out

Nicco, what paint did you use to paint the trims with? I painted mine a while ago and it came out pretty good, but after sitting in the sun over the past few months, the paint drivers side window moulds have started cracking
