I finally sheeted the whole east side of my carport today, no more bl00dy rain blowin' in and wetting everything.
I bought a Laboratory spec power supply unit where I can adjust the Voltage (1V to 16V DC) and the Amperage (0 to 40 ).....this is for my Zinc Plating outfit. The steering drag link, UCA's and the LCA's are painted and drying atm.

Im loving seeing the parts and tools being made for this project.
Really interesting stuff we can all learn from. Got any info on your zinc plating unit? If I can make similar and not have to send parts for the Mav out Ill be wrapped!

It wasn't cheap, bloke....it cost me about $800 for the kit, and $370 for the power source....but the thing is, I'm plating it to what I want....as in the coverage....also, I can do 3 colours....Black, Gold, and a Silver with a blueish hue to it. I haven't plated anything yet.....just trying to get myself set up to do stuff. I still haven't done the doors on my ED yet.....needed a weather proof place to do it....hence sheeting the carport.......you's know how it goes.....sh!t ya gotta do before you can do sh!t.

Know how that goes all too well. 1 project creates 6 others to do first!

I already had a power source, it was Voltage only adjustable ( 0 to 15 V DC), but it would belt out 10 Amps, which is too much and would 'burn' the Zinc on and it would look like sh!t. The bloke from Caswell Plating was very helpful....I spoke to him on the phone a coulpe of times.

I made 2 sets of leads for the power source today.....after I took it out of it's box, I found it had 2 differents spots for the leads....on the front, they are for up to 5 amps, and on the back, it is for up to 40 amps.
I also pulled the diff out of the drag car and removed the left side leaf spring pack.....as well as the rear sway bar. Just have the right side spring pack and the fuel tank, fuel lines and brake lines to remove now.

I got 'round to wrapping and bagging my painted items today, ordered some smaller OD Acetal Delrin round ( 35mm), bought some CAT bolts, washers, spring washers and nuts for the rear suspension, bought some steel to make new, heavier duty, mounting points and shackles for the rear suspension.
I have Caster Shims to put under the diff mount pads to tilt it forward, as well. I'll have to get some new 'U' bolts made for the mounting of the diff to the springs. I'm going to see if I can copy what Dodge did with the rear springs on the Chargers in the late 60's, early 70's with the 426 Hemi powered cars (helps give traction)....as well as boxing the subframes.

Nah....I keep getting interupted, and forgot....just got some CAT VCI impregnated heavy paper, sprayed the paper with INOX MX3....FFS...just got interupted while typing this...aaarrrrggghhhh!!!!. I sprayed the paper to help with the UCA's, LCA's and Drag Link not to stick to the paper while in storage. http://www.corrosionvci.com/corrosion/p ... .php?cat=1 I get the paper from work...it gets thrown out....so I take some home to wrap and protect parts from rusting while in storage. The paper has " CAT® " all over it.
