 put it this way, I'm away laughing!

Ok here's a few pic's of it where it stood mid 08 after a bit of pissing round:

By November 07 I had done the MPFI conversion and wacked some extractors on.
Everyone laugh in awe of my milo tin pod heat shield! It was made after the acrylic caulking sealant on my "custom" ducting to my giant sour cream container failed.( )
Image

Heres my extractors heatshield :D ...note the bodgied up accel cable, over the extractors where it failed. Done with some No. 8 rod, couple of hose clamps, 3/8 heater pipe and a fair measure of duct tape
Image

Terrible cell phone pics I'm afraid, by this point it had lost the factory fairmont rims.
Image

It's getting it's annual polish.
Image

Trademe pic at the inlaws, at a time when I was less fond of the poor thing.
Image

In the hail on christmas day 07, wierd, I know

My god, I was just talking about wiggling and jiggling on my thread, and now I have a look at this and am greeted with "this car is taking a pounding"... This site is sick and I am terminating my membership forthwith*

BENZ, you've missed the THERMO FAN CONVERSION....

Never fear, that will come, I'm sure.

As for your tin can approach - It wasn't you laughing at me using a tin can instead of a real dust excluder on the bellhousing then, was it? Also, check out this thread for a sparkly version of your original extractor heat shield... ford-parts-for-sale-f17/group-buy-extractor-heat-shields-stainless-steel-t77473.html

Image
The day of the T5 install, with the wheels on that took about three months to convince you about.....

Image
The firewall strengthener. One of the stronger efforts (if not the best looking!) 6mm steel plate, bit of old chair leg with a 3mm 20mm washer on top. Can't argue with that (and if you did, it would win)

Lucky someone put that vacuum hose back on the brake booster. Did you ever tighten up that stud nut to the booster through the firewall Benman?

That was quite funny. Hour spent by someone or other "removing" nuts and then I find they mostly all still fully attached so just get out the hammer and knock it all together. Bloody builders. Always relying on hammers to sort out technical situations.

Haha, thanks fiend. So as you can see, it inherited some EF fairmont rims with directionals and mirrors :D

One big fat step in the right direction.

Also that picture of the strengthener, and my sig, mean, that's right, we converted it to manual!

What you can't see in any of the pictures is the EL ecu I also put in while adding the BBM, and the flurry of wires that go from what was the TCU to the EL ecu, which ofcourse are now mostly useless as it's all T5'd up...

Here is a cool wee thing I found sitting on top of a 4.0 up at pik-a-part:
Image

Can't see it? Try this one:

More to come, still trying to find pics...

It's out of a Subaru.

This is repeated here due to it being the correct forum for such...

Ah sweet thanks fiend. Yeah I caaaaan change into 1,3,5 now that I've put slightly more of a bend in my steel tube gear stick, looks more like a real one now anyway. It was the cup holders or the stick, the latter had to take th punishment...

XFwagon, a couple of people have suggested they may be out of a subaru....you got your T5 in?!?!?!

Ah sweet, how did you mount them? Thats a pretty nifty mod, us boxcar owners (well i know me for certain) are always swearing because there is no where to put the bottle of Speights ;) ....or coffee for you PC people out there.

Na mate, still waiting on injectors/maf coming from out of NZ. i need to get some bolts for the clutch to flywheel too. weather is not looking too good for weekend so big bummer there.

Nice homemade stick there haha, i told you to get one of those short shifters!
