the motor he picked up from a mate of mine. series 2 AU stock motor (non VCT non tickford)

a V8 will fit in the front but you need to change the k-frame to make it fit. kinda pointless when a supercharged 6 makes alot more power

No need to change K Frame. I'd boost the 6 instead of going to the hassle of putting a V8 in there.

hmmm... in terms of value for money (including maintenance), a supercharger is better than a turbo?

value for money turbo is easier and cheaper to get power from, however there is soo many factors that you need to put into the choice. what power your after, when you want the power, cost and extent of the build.. for example if your going for 400kw from an I6 you will choose turbo over supercharger first of all for cost but many other reasons

have a look at troymans thread. his was supercharged but when he got towards the top of his setup he went to turbo and there is a good details discussion in the thread about the differences.

in an every day use id rather a supercharger having the instant power and great for towing. but overall power turbo is more for me

Depends on what type of supercharger how they develop power. A Centrifugal (Rotrex, Powerdyne, Raptor, Vortech, Procharger) progressively build boost. A Twin Screw/Roots (Kenne Bell, Whipple, Eaton, Sprintex etc) build boost almost instantly.

My turbo setup is just as responsive as my eaton was but without high intake temps and a capped boost level.

Exactly why I will be going turbo on my NC. I'd rather a broad powerband with the ability to intercool easily.

Intech is suffering boost related drama's again. The VCT motor is getting rebuilt to go back in one day. Blower off, injectors out and flashed back to stock at the moment.

sodumb question, but... is it worth going through it all?
the more i read into turbo vs supercharger, the more i like the idea of a supercharger... but reliability is still a big hurdle to over come before i even start to save the $ i will need...
