Thanks fellas, all I have to do now is the rears. I will take a little longer with them because I am pulling out the rear axles and replacing the backing plates with BA ones. I was told once before by a mechanic to just add washers to the calipers to space them? Not this little black duck.
I am no mechanic and I don't like Butcher work. |

Finally added the rear 328mm brakes onto my NEW XR6. Wasn't too difficult just time consuming. I used the back plates from a BA Ute with the large brakes and used the standard BA rear Brake Hoses, the Calipers are brand new as are the discs, of course.
I just have to bleed the little beast and then change the radiator and take it for a ride. |

No, they are 322mm same as BF upgrade.
They sure look nice and I also added the Tickford Master Cylinder. |

Looks good, i really like your new beast. Now that i have an AU Diff in the EF, is this an easy upgrade for mine, and could you list the parts required, as i am pretty keen to upgrade my rears Cheers Brett

When the standard rotors wear out, I will get a set of drilled and slotted rotors, they look nicer than these and am sure they will make for better braking. At least this will be one of the best braking AU's around.
Would love to get the 5000 series but not made for what I have. |

It's good to see you around here again. You will need 2 brake backing plates complete from a BA/BF wagon or Ute, normal brakes will do. If you want to put the rotor shields on you will need them from a Ute with Big Brakes on it. I used the BA rear brake hoses as they have braiding and are cheaper than buying the full braided ones. I would STRONGLY suggest NEW rear wheel bearings while you have the axles out. Of course you will need 2 x 328mm disc rotors, not hard to find and then, 2 rear Calipers from either a Territory or a BA/BF Ute or Wagon with Big brakes. Everything else you need to do is from YOUR effort. Whatever you do, do NOT listen to people who say you can space out the calipers on the original brake backing plates with WASHERS Some blokes recommend that s**t.. |
