definitely. ive been wanting to check sydney out for a while so if i can find an excuse (and some $$) ill send you a message :D
ill most likely be doing fitting myself, bonnet definitely will be as its being done when i pick up the new bonnet, somewhat like a swap
i was expecting up around $1500-$2000 just for decent paint so thats good news haha

i still look at the start and finish photos and think that there is no way its even the same car. good work.

this is the shot that sold the GT bumper to me so thanks for that too haha

lol no worries mate!! yeah that shot is one of my favs as well, my misses mocked it up to imitate a showroom. Yeah i didnt realise either how much the car had changed until i looked at the original photo when i got it and how it is today :-)

If you are going to fit it yourself make sure you do that before painting as there is usually a fair amount of fiddling to do to get it to sit right so you dont want to damage your paint. My panel beater also welded on an L bracket he made up to the front (actual) bar on the car which then screws into the middle of my bar behind the number plate, this is so the bar sits up nice and snug under the headlights. You can see in the progress pics when he first put it on, the gap was all even but there was still a gap so he made this bracket to get it to sit flush. Not sure if you will have to do the same but just in case you are wondering thats how he got it like that.

Cheers

Phil

thanks mate, what do you mean by the colour conquor? is that the name of like mine is shockwave? If you mean the grey part my panel beater looked up on the ford database what colour the actual blue GT's have and its that grey colour, i can't remember the name exactly, it had the word metal in it i think

as for the F6/GT spoiler i am not so sure if i am a fan of them being so high, kinda gives me the feeling of ricer.... i have contemplated the rear bootlip spoiler like the force 6 has, i think that would give it a nice sleek look but i have really spent too much already so i will prolly just stick with what i got for now. I might re-visit it after i have done the other mods i have in mind first.

Cheers

Phil

OOOO looked what turned up work today :-) Big thanks goes to Justin at Tuff Car Parts - I highly recommend him, huge amount of knowledge and extremely quick replies, I was emailing him questions and it was like we were instant message chatting!

Anyways getting this bad boy installed on Saturday - stay tuned for the results. Then I think it will be time for a custom tune and be it

Here is a pic of the actual harmonic balancer, its actually bigger than I thought!

SO! got the under kit installed today, took about 2 hours after a bit of stuffing around.

Anyways we had a bit of trouble getting off the old harmonic balancer. At the time didnt know but now do and that is from the AU onwards ford changed the design. Usually there are 3 screw holes that you can attach a puller to and then unscrew it. Well my mechanic didn’t have this new puller tool so we couldn’t get it off. He rang ford but was on hold for a while and couldn’t get through.

I decided I would ring Ford as I knew they were open (plus worked there for 5 years so knew a few blokes) and got onto spare parts in a hope we could buy the new tool. The shop needed it anyways so thought why not, anyways spare parts don’t sell the tool so we moved over to the service manager at Power Ford. Spoke to him and he agreed to let us borrow it. So me and the mechanic jumped in the car and headed down (as they are only 5 – 10 mins away) Anyways back at the shop we removed the old balancer and put the new one in

We then replaced the 2 idler pulleys which came as part of the kit and then fitted the new belt as well which the design was inspired by nascar :-D hahaha

The car definitely seems to rev up easier and hwy cruising is awesome, has probably dropped the revs about 100-150rpms, also the air con and power steering etc is all the same as it was before so it doesn’t affect that either, I guess because they are over driven so its just wasting power as stock.

Anyways pics below

Removed the fan and intake pipe so there is room to work with. No need to remove the radiator which is great :-D
Image

And a close up of the space to work with
Image

Old belt taken off
Image

Removing the old balancer using the puller tool borrowed from Power Ford
Image

The new balancer on the left and the old on the right. You will notice the front of it is actually the same size but in the other pics you can see the size difference where the actual belt runs, the new one is smaller
Image

New balancer and one idler pulley installed, we put the other one in as part of the tensioner but I didn’t grab a pic of it
Image

Now the next thing is a custom tune by Intune Motorsport

Cheers

Phil

I'm hopefully ordering my exhaust system in tomorrow when I get paid (: Can't wait hehe

Do you know any mates up this way that have modded their cars, and if so who they went through?
