So a little update from the weekend. Car was due for a 130km service, I also got the tranny serviced again as it was 30km ago it was done. The changes are much smoother again and my reverse engages quickly again. I also got the fuel filter changes again however mine had fallen victim to the standard Ford stripped nut from factory so we needed to do some modifications. The boys at CMS sorted it out for me we simply cut off the nut and put a bigger filter in place, because we had to cut we extended the fuel lines with some rubber hose and now its all good. As always a few pics along the way

Little update:

One of my headlights blew during the week so went down to see my mate at repco and picked up some plus 100s on the cheap :-) I had plus 90s in there at the moment so will be interesting to see the difference them. Took a couple of photo's along the way

Hey nice car its stunning. Should have kept it as an SR tho :P

How do those monroe gt sport shocks handle?

I want to lower mine a few inches. But I want to do it properly and go King SL springs and monore GT shocks. replace any worn bushes etc.

Also is the sway bar a huge improvement? I was thinking of getting one as well, do you only need one for the front?

the custom tune you got seems a bit "how ya going". I hope i can more out of mine than that. But the real question is how does it feel? is it alot more responsive and better to drive now

Hahahaha nah i love the look of the GT, just couldn't afford one at the time.

The monroes are fine for what they are, firmed up the ride nicely and handling is pretty good for a heavy car. The sway bar is by far the best upgrade to handling, yes definitely replace both front and rear otherwise you will have a really tight rear end and be all sloppy up front lol, hit up Tuff Car Parts - they were the cheapest I could find and Justin is a great bloke.

The tune is great! The number gains weren't huge (the dyno at CMS is a tough one though) but the drive-ability is awesome. Second gear pulls really nice and there is heaps more torque now, definitely worth it!

Oh and here is a video of me at Wakefield on Friday - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151087368623638

yeah I was just having a joke. Your car looks nice. I just havnt seen many SR around and now yours gone thats one less lol.

So you reckon get front and rear sway bars? I would have thought just one for the front. But if the rear needs stiffening up then prob a good idea.

hahah i know mate, yeah get both, the front is thicker but the rear is def doing as well. The bars aren't that much and easy enough to install.

Hey Phil bro!

I just finished putting my 22mm Adjustable rear sway bar in, and replacing the links on the front sway bar.

Do you get any issues with the front bar touching the control arms on pre-load? It happens every now and then (less now with the new links), makes a massive clunking noise.

Just wondering if yours does this or not (if it doesn't, it means I'm going to buy heavy duty links from whiteline).

Um nah mine didn't do that at all. Even using my original links it wasn't a problem. I then got the heavy duty ones and still all sweet. I have issues with my rear link pins coming loose all the time and making a rattling a noise. Already replaced them once so going to try and tighten them again otherwise im going to get some heavy duty ones for the rear.

Cheers

Phil

Yeah. my front link nuts came undone, even though I'd cranked the f**k on there tight as all hell. It's a royal pain in the a** doing it with a lowered car, as the suspension needs to be at it's normal height lol either way, new links are $170-$180 a pair.... hopefully fixes the issue.

Finally gave it a wash today after about 5 months. There has been all this **** roadwork on near my place so driving on it every day for 2 months has taken its toll. Car is covered in tar spots, will be getting it professional detailed and buffed early next month - some pics to keep things interesting

That came out beautifully after the clean! Did you give it a polish also? I just bought myself a buffer, with a woolen attachment and some gootchy polisher. Will give the car a mad polish up once the bodykit goes on and gets painted in 2 weeks :D
