Woah. All I can do is go "Gulp" and take a deap breath.
First things first. I'm a bit confused about the handbrake bracket issue. Did all V6's and diesels have the bracket on the engine bay side of the firewall. If so which model lux do I need to pillage the right bracket from? |

Understandably.
Guys he has a V6 so it already has the internal handbrake. The bracket with the hydraulic line also has nothing to do with the handbrake its for the V6's internally located clutch master which uses a remote fluid container in the engine bay. Nik, if you look at my first pic you will see unlike yours my complete clutch master is located in the engine bay but it doesn't affect the engines location. Except for the V6 4Runner, other Surfs and 4Runners have their handbrake cable system located on the firewall and you can just see it behind my right rocker cover. This is what they are referring to but this is not an issue with yours. Remove the engine lifting bracket and move the engine as far back as you can. I doubt this line will cause an issue but if it does get in the way then simply relocate or modify it . JD |

I plan on running something allot less restrictive using a Garrett turbo & better flowing plumbing. I also intend on boring out to 3litre when I lunch the 2.8, that's if xcabbi doesn't get his going and I get terribly jealous & throw the diesel in the skip In short a turbo from a 2.4 doesn't entertain me in the slightest. {USERNAME} wrote: Which is a shame as in 4wd it acts on the front wheels too, which has proven to be helpful a number of time for me. This is the reason I want one, that and if youve ever owned a hilux you would know the standard one yields at the slightest sign of incline. I never knew they came out on patrols. I'll stop hijacking now.

Didn't do much today except for score a set of AU accessories (Alt, ps pump, air con and water pump) with all the brackets for the princely sum of 200 bucks. I then preceeded to destroy my E series ps pump pulley whist removing it.
Other than that I don't think its going to be that difficult and should be on the road sooner than I expect. |

Better find a good sparky that will be in the industry for a long time... it will be an utter C*** for a 2nd person to figure out what the first person has done. I already feel sorry for the next person to get their hands on my Paj

No black spaghetti loom here. Just factory E series engine bay harness and some toyota stuff to deal with as well.

Sorry, should have said you can legally have one, just not as the main/primary hand brake. |

Next time you adjust the rear up, bang the tyre with a rubber mallet, this vibrates the shoes to move up a touch centering them on the drum. Can then get a couple more clicks of adjustmet before they rub on the drum. Repeat till no more adjustment available, then back off a click or 2. You will find it stops much, much better too. |
