Hey Mad, yea good question-I haven't looked into it yet-but as I'll be starting with basic 1/4 mile nearest to me would be Sydney.

Made up the template for the spoiler out of plastic (gives a better idea of how the sheet metal will form)then transferredthat to some white plastic mesh stuff I have which I can then cut some carbon fiber out with and using the formed sheet metal from either side as a mould for the carbon fiber. (Or I can use the sheet metal as is to start with).but as the sun was going down it (the white stuff plastic templates) all blended together giving the appearance of a finished spoiler.
Here's a pic to give you an idea of what I'm going for.

Cheers Johnny.

How'd you go with those screws (or remnants of screws haha) on the windscreen trims?

Hey Ben,sorry it's taken so long to answer you-but in short no I haven't done anything with the screws and windscreen yet as I've been a bit crook + weather has been crap.
But have been working out what AN adaptors I needed to make the AN6 trans lines and AN8 engine oil cooler lines with oil filter sandwiche plate etc.
Also got the sheet metal cut for the bumper/spoiler and made a start on making some stainless sheet metal headlight blanks (very ruff form yet & will be getting the brushed metal treatment and painted black).
Also found some decent nuts to use on my "otherwise useless head studs" and have ordered some HP_junkie 14mm head stud washers as the 12mm ones don't fit over the top threads of the speedmaster studs which are slightly over 13mm.Think this should be okay as I can't push the 182 engine above 350kw anyway.Have also made a block of plate for the inlet manifold butterfly actuator hole (may be able to use this later for something)and just bits here and there.
Didn't really want to use my crow cam springs/retainers and collects on this engine (as its overkill really) but cannot not find any springs at a good price like the ones plazmaman had a while back at between $250-280 mark.oh well

Cheers Johnny.

Hey guys,am looking at getting a 2200 rpm stall converter to help launching with boost for the fresh btr but am not sure if I'm going the right way,am looking at the Diamond 2200 rpm stall advertised for any 93LE 4 speed XR6 turbo so it should also work in a standard ba box as well (once ecu is adjusted to stop it going into lhm)? Also with the lock up clutch all btr 4 speed gearboxes have the lock up function from somewhere in e-series on yes? I do realize that the na box isn't going to last long but the stall should work okay with the na box shouldn't it?

Any clarification would be really appreciated!
Cheers Johnny.

Hey guys,am contemplating the next step for this-like I said I'm using the studs I had with no nuts in which I'm using normal type nuts with the larger head stud washers to spread the load better and preventing head crush in which I'll be using the one stud at a time technique to keep the head/gasket sealed and then doing the valve springs head on,am wondering if anyone would be interested- I could do video of the process etc.
Let me know if that's something that would be beneficial or at least a laugh for some of you.
Cheers Johnny.

P.s
And Pleeaase anyone who has some experience in what ever I'm doing I need advice desperately/especially concerning the stall converter etc....

Hey guys, been researching the best way to go about changing the head studs & valve springs and have found the locking tool I got is almost useless with the timing cover on without modifications but rather than doing that I used a trick I saw on YouTube by Scott van Strien (I apologize if I spelt it wrong) his is a hardwood block cut on an angle to press between the chain holding it in,I'll show you what I mean when I pull it out. But mine is made of PVC board.

Cheers Johnny.

Hey guys, have been slowly working out how and what to do to change the valve springs and head studs,so I'll show you a bit of what's involved-Ive only managed to get 2 springs and retainers changed so far but now have a much better understanding of how to go about it and am hoping that the next 22 springs and retainers are a bit easier.

Cheers Johnny.

Hey Mick, yeah they're not cheap and yes you can "rent them-if you cover the whole cost of the tool as insurance" no thanks I bought mine some time ago and I plan on using it alot more very soon.
Will finish the valve springs and then start on the head studs as I think I've found a torque setting guide that should work for what I'm doing.

Cheers Johnny.

Hey guys, progress is slow but now have 8 springs and retainers done-definetly a knack to doing them which I think I've worked out-so hopefully get the rest done tomorrow,I did have a small problem with a couple of the crow cam retainers in that at least 2 so far are slightly too big and get seized in the valve spring tool which could do some damage trying to remove from the spring once it's in.
Then it's on to the head studs so I can get it back together and mate the fresh BTR + the (2200 rpm hi-stall) the box just happens to come from a non abs ute so it has the correct extension housing and speed sensor.

Hey guys,so have got 21 crow cams performance springs and retainers fitted (would have had them all done) but here's the problem 3 of the retainers are too big to fit the valve tool and literally get jammed in the valve spring tool-now I could use a grinder or similar to get it to fit in the tool but I shouldn't have to and I don't know what the effect would be on the longevity of the spring and retainers after doing so.With the price I paid for these and the fact that they are a well known company that I've never heard bad about I did expect better.

So have sent them an email and will have to wait for a response as I'm not sure what to do about this.

Cheers Johnny.

P.s I've checked the tool and its sizing is perfect.

Hey guys,so have spent the day talking to Crow cams and measuring retainers and good news is I should have 3 good retainers tomorrow-still annoying 2 days waisted.
And I think I've got it worked out for the head bolts-as I said I'll be doing one stud at a time in a reverse pattern to putting the head on (to maintain head seal)-starting in the center and working my way out in a spiral pattern, will torque in three stages to start with/one stud 30 ft lb. 50ft lb. then 70ft lb then once they're all changed start again from the middle torque to either 80 to 85ft lb

If anyone has any info advice would much appreciated!!
Cheers Johnny.

Hey guys, well the retainers turned up first thing this morning (air courier-then normal courier) so have all 24 valve springs done so now I can sort out the head studs, need to get some engine assembly lube to put the cams etc back in.
Also got my kirkey race seat today and have been working out where and how to mount it-with no roll cage yet of course.
Pics
Cheers Johnny.
