how do u have a dual battery set up?
how do u get the one in the boot to charge?

Small transformer works on the ignition. When it's off the batterys are seperated so at a show you can run the stereo system and not worry about a flat battery perventing you from startng the car.
As soon as the key goes in the batterys are connected and up she charges...

Do you have an upgraded alternator - ie higher amperage coile rewround or are you just running the standard alternator

Standard one, seems to work fine.
I have never had dimming or any supply problems even with everything going full Audio / lights / neions etc... I think they are a 120amp anyway aren't they?

Back battery (Optima) around $350 front battery (Oddessy) $350and transformer $40 so $750 roughly...

just out of interest how much have u spent on just the engine/driveline?

I would have to work out exact but i'd say $32,000 on engine and $4,000 on gearbox and clutch.

That paint used to cost HEAPS when it first came out, still cost alot today. Good paint jobs are not cheap

Well with the new gearbox and clutch going in we should be able to get some higher numbers on the dyno.
Not sure how much more but would like to be able to get a consistent 420rwkw maybe as high as 450rwkw.

Thats some good results there mate, just goes to show how a properly designed system can surpass what you expect from it, I can only hope that I get anything near that, with the reliability you have to boot.
Did you expect to get figures that high? |
