You will fix it though RD, good luck with it and hopefully you will not get any more surprises. Josh |

Looking at the pictures it doesn't seem that bad well from the view of an another uneducated person in these things but if you could clean it a bit more and rust kill it plate it coat of paint or something and you should be home and hosed.

That't easy fixed Bruce, in fact, if I lived down Sydney way, I'd do it myself with my mig. Neutralise the rust within the sill with fish oil, rust convertor, sump oil or whatever you can find and then weld some plate over the holes. I have to wonder though, how the heck did the moisture find its way in the sills in the first place? Is this EF specific?

I'll get some plate and shape it to fit and prep the area so some nice person can weld it on for me {USERNAME} wrote: I have to wonder though, how the heck did the moisture find its way in the sills in the first place? Is this EF specific? pull the guard linners out the front guards and check the end of the sills, they collect all the rubbish and rust out--seen lots in the wreckers.the rust sections can be repaired ok,ive done worse over the years, get hold of a mig.

I just happen to have the front guards off at the moment so will do that too. That way I can get alot more rust kill stuff in there

Grrrrrrr, rain has put paid to any further work today on the EF. Add to that the EB suddenly deciding it doesn't want to start and my car saga just gets worse....

RD joys of owning a motor car. and also rain sucks a** when it isn't needed Tell me about it! I am thinking starter motor for the EB which is a bugger because it is going to a wrecker when the EF is mobile! As for rain, if I had a garage to work in I wouldn't give a rats but I am in the back yard under a gazebo - problem is water flows wherever the hell it wants to!

That way I can get alot more rust kill stuff in there since its a 3 plate sill, weld the patches, pull the rubber plugs out above the patches and spray fish oil into it,1-2 cans each side-or spray with a degreaser gun, catch the excess under drain holes.remove the door plastic scuff covers of the sills and spray\pour the fish oil down the slotted holes and catch the excess, use it on the doors next time your in there.try to spray some down the dog legs while your at it.
