Hey guys and girls. not really a newby here, but thought it might be time to make one of these. After a long run of (cough) holdens (cough), im finally back in a ford. its not much to look at, but hopefully that'll change soon enough. Its a 96 cardinal red ef gli, factory 5 speed, ba xr6t intake snorkel, hi tech headers, 100 cpi hi flow cat, 2 1/2 inch cat back with 2 mufflers, xr rear springs, superlows in the front sitting on 16 inch sharkfins. Used to have a 977b-114lsa and standard head, that made 134rwkw before j3, 136 after. i wasnt really likeing the 977b so i changed to a tighter lsa being 977b-110. changed to a tickford head and tuned in at 154.7rwkw last weekend at A1 Gas in Hallam. Hopefully i'll get a chance to give it a fresh coat of paint over the christmas break. Interior is pretty much stock except for usual mods, trip computer, opt 20 intsrument cluster, red led dash lights and a short throw shifter. I want to do something to the interior soon just not sure what, so throw some ideas around that dont break the bank!

Looks good mate ! Nice bit of extra power from the cam, head and j3 :D
Is it me or does it have side skirts on it ? Looks different than stock.

hey thanks, yeah it has skirts, but im not sure who made them. they arent real thick and the drivers side catches your foot as you get out. really need a good coat of paint, as the clear has come off the boot and bonnet and looks s**t. and now i have to replace the front bar as i ripped that off today! damn superlows. lol

Good idea, the car will always look 10 times better with some new paint. Maybe even source a fairmont front end and put that on 8-)

i dont really like the fairmont front end, i like the standard ef, i had an ef xr front end to put on, but money issues meant i had to part with it. but would love to get an el xr front but with two kids i couldnt afford it. next option is just the ticky bodykit. i just read through your build thread, and even though im not a huge fan of the el look, yours is a very nice looking car. bet your hanging to get it on the dyno?

Fair enough, the xr6 would be even better has that sporty feel to it.
Cheers mate :) I have to agree with you I was never a fan of the EL fronts looked like a dopey mouth, although the body kit on the front improved it immensely. I am dying to have it on the dyno again, it's been ages since I have driven it properly but don't want to rush the work.

Exactly right, I'm just hoping it all goes well on the dyno and nothing goes BANG !
So far I have spent round 3 k ? starting to lose track of it all. The turbo kit was off ebay and that was about $1500, then was exhaust work, fuel stuff, intercooler, tow trucks, other little bits and bobs that were needed and later on the tune itself.
Gone over what I thought I would spend but that's to be expected.

they look like they are it, also looking through the kits and it looks like my rear wing is the same as the gt wing just not as high.

Talon don't appear to be producing their kit any more, only doing the XR style now for the EF/EL.
