You're welcome, always happy to help others spend their money making their car go faster
Good to see that you're on the mend again too.
Have you done a compression test to see if there really is something wrong with the motor?

My dodgy press-on one got damaged somehow (moving I think), but if you can get hold of a screw-in one (far more accurate) I'd be happy to help do the tests.

Your car needs fresh rubber for the fuel lines and an E85 tune!

http://www.caltex.com.au/HelpCentre/Sit ... ation.aspx
There are two near you with E-Flex (Moorebank and Casula) and plenty more in the Sydney region. Plus your J3 can store two tunes, so just have one for 98RON with lower boost, less timing and no correction factor for the AFR (which E85 will need) in case you can't get E85 before running out.

I dont know why but i still feel apprehencive towards e85 rooting what life my motor has left.

Just for laughs i ran 6psi for the trip to mum and dad's, never ever ever again will i do that... i suppose it has good torque for the street but at that boost it doesnt really feel transformed.

"The ethanol is slower to ignite, and more timing can be added at max power without the worries of detonation."
Translation: You're less likely to damage the motor with a decent E85 tune!

And read up on the rest too.

But if you've already got a questionable head gasket, the increase in power could make it go pop, without detonation.

Yes, but that will be caused by the boost pressure, not the fuel. Fixing any loss of compression is a separate issue (which does need to be tested and addressed ASAP regardless of fuel type).

I'll hand you the keys to the current tow car (stock EB2 XR8 auto) and let's see if you still say that

Anyway cost all of $20 to get rebuilt then once im over this bug ill get right into tuning for high boost.

Ah the eb v8 tow car i suppose the 6psi makes it boogy a little bit but it leaves you hungry for more...
