Around the 2000rpm mark, if i drive away from a set of lights with alittle bit of throttle it wont have boost but it pulls with revs around 2500rpm mark.

If you could get a t04e with 60 trim comp wheel and a ptrim exhaust wheel in a .70 ar that would go very hard but not much room to grow past about 250rwkw, it would suit a stock 5l very very well.

Hi mate yh id love a 3000rpm stally for it, i was actually contemplating get r33 turbos and going twins but i was told by everyone that there too small andthey would choke at 4000rpm.

So hows your setup mate do you find the turbos run out of puff?, and how much boost are you running?.

3000rpm stally mmmm

They run out about 5300 but its only running 7psi with 295rwhp at the moment.Going to run 10psi and get the microtech retuned and should be good for 325-340rwhp according to my old dyno sheets that come with it.Have a look in the garage for it to see pic on the set up...

I think a Airwerks S366sx 66mm comp wheel with .91 exhaust housing or S400sx 71mm comp wheel with .91 exhaust housing would work well depending on gearbox and diff setup.

Say if u had a C4 with 3.73 diff gears then id probably lean towards a S400sx but if u have about 3.5 diff gears id go the S366sx and this is for both getting it spooling before 3000rpm and pull to 5500rpm.

GCG stock both those turbo's and the complete Airwerks range

From my experience i wouldn't bother changing diff ratios as the stock 3.27 is perfect also manifold design is more important than a ratio change ( spool wise ).

Basicaly a gt3540r is the best turbo to suit 99% stock 4l and 5l motors no need for a big turbo unless your looking for very high hp figures ie dyno queens that only run 12s.

Yh bigger turbos 'work' but the wont be efficient.

Basicaly any t4 turbo that runs comp trim over 60 will be better off with a .70 t4 rear housing ( with p trim turbine ) just look at my 0-100 video spools for 90% of the run full boost at 4500rpm is very boring and not fun ( 1.00 rear ar ).

LOL dad got in my car today and said the power was just effortless only at 3psi (ebc is set in open loop mode) he loves it but thinks its irresponsible.

Im actually looking for a 57 trim t04e as i dont want to run heaps of boost, ill probably kill the poor thing lol.

A smaller A.R T04 is better..
As in .84A.R T04Z... They have 66mm turbine while the XR6T has 61mm or there abouts..
Back pressure is very important that it doesn't get too high..
Also guys remember a turbo runs off exhaust flow!!!
You WON'T get too much boost with limited throttle..
If you want untold boost try some left foot braking on converter and some throttle but not too much or too often...Exhaust and engine load is what you need..

i have been hand timing my car every now and then always adding a bit more stall... you need to get on the convertor really hard and sit for about 5 odd seconds then it leaves marks about 100 metres long before get traction THEN chirping the tyres sliding out again WHOA this is quick got to 150 in no time at all.
So im still not happy about its lag so the smaller housing is going on aswell as better tyres.
So theres the trick with an auto you have to sit on the convertor to get boost off the line.... but goddamn it hammers

To true mate , but what if you dont need a 800hp turbo for 250rwkw.
From what i read over at corral a 60-1 to4 works extremely well on a STOCK h.o motor.

Im only after 250rwkw i also want it at low boost aswell, the p trim in a .70 has perfect spool/boost response but the comp side .70a/r t66 would require 12psi+ to achieve the power im after( stock 300,000 k bearings dont like it not to mention weak valve springs).

Correctly sized turbos ftw, big turbo low boost ftl.

Love your work mate. Definately got me thinking about doing something similar on my wagon, perhaps even a remote mount. I'm not after anything crazy, just a nice torquey upgrade that will give me 220rwkws or similar. Keeps us updated on your progress.

Thnx mate, its going in the right direction power wise the thing that made the biggest difference with the turbo was the smaller turbine housing.

When you eventually get to doing this search on corral forums and the turbo forums as i went in blind and had to change somethings that didnt work as well as it could have.

Btw your car sounds very nice with that e303, i might be looking for one soon as my car sounds too stock.
