LOL! Pics coming soon! She drives the car to work every day and doesn't get home 'til dark. Starter pics will be up when I get a chance to take some shots in daylight.

After standing out there staring at the engine I have decided to cancel the engine replacement for this weekend. I think it would be better to replace the sump gasket and seals along with the welch plugs and rocker cover gasket while I have it out to save any grief later. As I am also replacing the K frame and that needs some cleanup work, so I think it is a good idea. Besides, I need a little more time to paint the rocker cover and get some of the injection cleaned up....
Anyway, I am just about to strip the engine of all it outer bits so I can plaint it. Along with the block, the tinware on the front, the harmonic balancer and the power steering pump will get paint too.... Cheers RD

The other option is to buy one somebody has already painted but then again, I need to experience these things to gain the knowledge.... Any tips welcome Cheers RD Hey RD, I went to town on my rocker cover with a wire wheel on a 5 inch grinder, but that was only a start as i am going to get it bead blasted and powder coated, will look much better and last a long time also, just have to decide what colour On a side note, it's a pity you got a slushbox, as i would be willing to part with my BBM, ticky head and EL XR6 manual ECU, if the price is right. Cheers Daz

Can get it stripped at least prior to the putting in bit though.... Cheers Daz My wife wouldn't want a manual in such a big car, she's been spoilt by the slush-o-matic. I only the other hand would consider it but the $$$$$$ are just not there, especially since we are trying to save to go to the US for 2 weeks in October next year!! Cheers RD

Just updated my have/have not lists after picking up a couple of things today. I got a perfect ED headlining, a stock exhaust system of an AU, another dash - this one EL XR6, another console - also EL XR6 which it has a leather lid on it (so Rach is happy ) and an EL handbrake with cable, dirty but fine.
I now have 2 spare EL dashes and am considering swapping out the passenger airbag one in my car with one of these, just have to decide which one So things are coming together slowly and hopefully I'll be in a position to start the project at the new projected time of next week. Cheers Bruce

Well, this build has been cancelled. Coming home this week is an EF II Fairmont that I picked up to replace Rachs EB. WIll know more of what it needs when I get it home.
Now I have a ton of bits that were going to go into the EB that are spare, the Fairy has them all. Will decide what to do with them in due course. Cheers RD

This car is now on the chopping block once again. With the purchase of Rach's EF I was planning to sell the EB to the wreckers after cancelling the rego. Well, after a visit to the local I found it wasn't worth anything to them so I have decided to make this into my project car instead once it is driveway bound.
I have a few plans floating round in my head for it, have never done a car version so this will be a new experience. It will get a total strip down and rust attended to first then, and this is the first idea, it will get an EL front end. I have something on the way to handle that side. Engine wise I am thinking along the lines of an AU with (possibly) a manual hanging off the back. Both of these items will be down the track though. Work on this car will pretty mirror my ED wagon where everything will be replaced. This time around I will be going for a full respray as well in some insane colour. This is just a precursor for the build to start, the EF is first. Cheers RD

mitchell g wrote: hey rd hows this going? It's not at the moment, the EB is the boganised hack at the moment with 14" stockies and no badges. After Rach's EF is done and dusted I have my ED wagon to update (finally!) and then a month or so after that I will start on this. I'll just be collecting parts for it as I go along. All I know is that it *will* have an EL front end grafted on and will be some shade of green - Rach likes green. I have sorta decided on wheels but have to raise the cash, that is after I pay for all the other things I have on hold at the moment. Aside from those things it is pretty open...
