Mate - my missus is the same, if not worse... She's been grumpy with my whenever I mention anything Ford for the last six months. Still, it has been dragging on... And on... And on... I reckon your missus rocks for helping out even a tinsy winsy bit.

Good work man. Please tell me what that other wiring connector was for?

I love "guessing the electrical connectors" type games. Right up there with asking which colour wires go to what...

Birds of a feather some of them, huh? :)

No ID for the plug as yet, nothing in the dash (or anything else for that matter) connected to it. Not even the drivers door loom has an extra socket. I am off to the wreckers tomorrow to look at one of their cars to see if I can identify it...

Cheers
RD

Have already had a stab with the stupidly insane "KEY BARREL CONNECTOR" am now moving my bet to ELECTRIC MIRRORS and vacating the key barrel position...

Poor Huggie... There really should be a MENS GROUP forum on here... You know what, I may just hold that one back from the over worked and thermonuclear Waggin for just now...

Gday mate, Ive just had a read of your thread and I have to say well done.

Good work with the dash. I have just pulled mine out of my NF and even though it was easyer than I first suspected, It was not easy.

I cant say I remember that plug you are trying to find out where it goes, as i did not venture behind the sound deadining in that area. It looks like a HDD power plug :D . I hope you find where it goes.

Cheers

Here it is just past midnight Sydney time and I am done for the night.

The diff is now 99% out (just sitting on the springs), hand brake cables all removed and ABS disconnected. Tomorrow it comes out completely and thank God for that, no more bloody whining from the back end.

While I was under there I found the source of my fuel smell, the tank is leaking - looks like at the joint between the two halves. Can't quite see because of the guard. So now I definitely need to swap tanks between the EL and the ED.

Just reading up on the removal process and I see the tank install will need resealing. What sort of sealant should I use to do this? The manual states a 15mm bead around the whole thing. If someone can fill me in on what to buy I'll go grab some.

Off to bed now, 7:00am start to catch the better part of the day before it gets too hot and to wish my kids well in their baseball games. They understand what Dad is doing, my daughter just likes all the cool new buttons in the car and she is so looking forward to power windows :) Gotta love 'em...

Night all, more updates tomorrow.

Cheers
RD

Yeahp - - When the left rear door was the last one to get power installed in my wagon the daughters complaining got me to do something about it. She definitely wanted "magic windows" like the rest of us had, and also it meant I had to put the black door lining on to accommodate the switches rather than the winder, so was the correct motivation for me. Although now I must be totally adverse to doors - that same door is now not opening from the outside and I just can't be a*** fixing it. Sad old man.

It's yours for $30.00 huggie (is that a fair price?) - bottom, backs and bolsters. Wasn't EVL098 coming up your way soon?

Cheers

Well it's your for that price if we can figure out how to get it up there :)

huggiebear wrote:

And the public shall receive... (damn my keyboard now has grease marks!)

Rear bar off both for accessibility and the fitting of a towbar

Image

Diff totally disconnected, springs and shocks removed. The diff is still there because I have nowhere to put the bloody thing yet!

Image

Fuel tank unbolted and disconnected. Fuel lines under the car to go and then a fight to get it out

Image

And one last one of a very tired spring hanger - the EL's are better so......

Image

It's heating up now and the smellies have started again. Working in the shady bit now and tend to follow the shade around the car as the sun moves! :)

Cheers
RD
