Bit of a bonus today on my continuing quest to get LPG in this thing. Dropped into my local LPG installer (he originally installed the system in my EA) to get an identification for the LPG computer bit.

He takes one look and says "AEB 197". Cool I says, off to find a wiring diagram. He then asks if I want one and gives me the book to go photocopy! All done now so armed with the wiring diagram for an EL I will install everything I can that is related to LPG and get them to hook it all up! Actual progress on the first day of doing anything car related, amazing!

Cheers
RD

Well this week I picked up a couple of bits off HP Hungry, namely a front bar to replace my falling apart version and some clear indicators. The front bar has chrome strip in it but it is a bit dodgy so will need replacing but it is at least all one colour instead of having the grey strip.

Sometime this week I will set about installing these and use the time to finish off the airbag sensor mount and wiring for the ambient air sensor. That should pretty much finish off the front and hopefully stop the bloody Airbag light on the dash flashing.

After that, all that will need doing is:

The forward handbrake cable mount. Need to get that from the EL shell so will be putting a diff into that this week too.

The door ajar sensor wiring. Found I need another fuel flap sensor as the one I have is dodgy. Finally finishing this will do a number of things. Firstly, the doors on the dash will stop flapping! Secondly, I'll be able to finish off the interior by getting the kick panels in and the door scuff plates in.

Water reservoir level sensor - need to either get another bottle or just the sensor bit.

Fit and wire the towbar. Never know when I might need to use it :)

Once my car is done to this level it will be time to start on my wifes EB. I have been collecting bits (still a couple to pickup hey ashcook :)) as I go along so should be able to make a difference to her currently stock ED S Pak.

Cheers
RD

Good stuff. Had almost forgotten about this car!

One day I'll be the owner of an EF with doors that flap on the instrument cluster... Until then I'll content myself with knowing that the water level warning lamps work, which is definitely a step up from how the car was when purchased! Onwards and upwards RD...

Personally, I like the silver ones better, but the pic is quite dark.

RD, run outside and take a better pic in the sun, full side on.

Oh, I am just lovin' these.... and you are right, black? silver? black? silver? Oh my head! Maybe one of them would change with say tinting and a body color stripe stripe in the grey side bits.....I think I may need a female opinion on this one!

Thanks Ben, awesome work. Oh, and thanks for messing with my head too :D

Had an answer from SWMBO and it is Silver!

Actually, sitting here staring at the screen for a while I tend to agree. Once a 20%-ish tint is done, she is debadged, clear front indicators in and the body striping done I think the ole girl (the car, not my wife!) would be lookin' pretty damn good.....

My female opinion said "what do you call those - 'not even mags?'" and I hadn't even asked her! When she saw me photoshopping the stripe she thought I had changed the wheels to silver, and said "much better...."

There you have it. So much for the black.....
