As LTD's/fairlanes are sedans, the boot light is a separate cct to the cabin courtesy lights, so the boot line is a simple connect up to.

***BUT****
For the tailgate, run the line past the RH rear door courtesy line connection (near seat belt base), splice into the courtesy light line (black/blue) going to the tailgate.
Cut the courtesy light line forward of this, add a diode in the line. This enables the tailgate to indicate on the cluster, and still operate the courtesy lights. No diode makes any door opened indicate as tailgate open on the cluster.
You'll find the cluster will probably be okay.

What Snap said, as he did mine :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks Snap, will double check the diode direction when I get to that point.

Cheers

Got a few things done on the wagon this weekend, been a while

First up, the front handbrake mount was welded on - yay!
Image

Handbrake works but needs adjustment though.

Next was the installation of the clear front indicators I got a while ago:

Really want to do the BA headlight mod now, just have to find out where to get BA headlights from and how much they go for....

Also got my towbar installed, that was after putting it on the right way up! Stupid me put it on upside down and wondered why the rea bar wouldn't go on :) Still have to wire it up though....

I did get one other thing done which has changed the look of the car. However, due to failing light and the camera running out of batteries, pics of that will have to wait until later in the week.

Cheers
RD

Yup, I like the clear alot, finding and installing clear ones on the side is next :) As for the tow bar, well I can only say I was distracted during the process and had a blonde moment

As for the other thing, it could well do 8-) . I spilled the beans to Rach and didn't get killed like I expected. However, she now wants FTR's for her car!

Cheers
RD

Cool, pleased to hear you are still alive. I am sure the risk of spilling the beans, so you could put the bloody things on was worth it LOL.

I look forward to picks.

The odds of "Photos of the wheels next to a black bonnet...." are at such a level that the bookies have shut the tote....

I started with this:

which transformed into this:

which was changed into this (in all it's unwashed glory :) ):

Better pics will be taken when it is shiny clean and in a more scenic area :) That'll be sometime after I have finished Rach's EF....

Cheers
