Does it look like mine? My one has little adjustable round map lights, and it only has two wires, 12v+ and Earth.

Yours? Forgot you had one - doh!

Yup, it has the little swivelly thingos and (stoopid me) yes it only has two wires - green and black ..... which make it easy to figure out :) I am pretty confident that I just hook it up to the appropriate wires in the dome light, yes?

Yep, one of them is perm 12v to the dome lamp, and just attach the earth to the frame or to the earth wire.

Have fun cutting a hole in your hood lining!!

Cheers

Bummer thing found out today..... I was driving back from PnP and realised my heater fan wasn't on even though the CC unit said it was on 9. As I was driving in the driveway, the fan sorta came on and went off at about speed 2 and then stopped again. I also tested it on max to see if the resistor pack thingy might had died (thanks Ben!) and nope, nothing. I found if I whacked the heater box the fan would *try* and turn but wouldn't stay going....

So it looks like I will need to replace the fan, not a nice job but reasonably easy. Biggest pain will be getting the heater box bolts out with the engine in. Dash will need to come out but that's only 10 bolts and I need to take it out anyway for other things.

Unless someone can suggest a way of checking the fan/getting it working without the above I would welcome the input. I'll be on the lookout for a fan in the meantime and when I have located a good one, I will plan for the fix while combining it with other needs. I just hope it isn't too hot in the coming days/weeks :( Thank God I didn't get the air con charged yet!

RD

Ok, weirdness now.....

Just went ot to swap the cars around in the driveway and..... the fan came on full pelt. Can adjust it right through the range, turn it off, turn it on etc etc etc. What the bloody hell is going on!!!!!!

Behind the glovebox on the heaterbox is a brown plug, disconnect it, and IIRC, the female is the fan side, male side goes to the fan speed controller. You can apply 12v to the fan for testing.

Thanks snap! Will try that out. Out of the two, I would much prefer the controller than the fan!

just a quick warning if you ever get in a crash in this car because you have moved the airbag sensor which is callerbrated to fire the bags at exactly the right time down to the millisecond you may and probaly will die or be seriously injured as well as this the crumple zones are different in all the models although they appear the same they are different so just be warned

and a warning to all 19 year olds who think they are smart when they drive a EB which doesnt come with airbags, if you end up in the same crash you will die too.. so whats the big deal?
