Good for you, I have been watching your various threads evolve. I am in the slump you *used* to be in and hence the reference, no malice intended. I'll remember not to mention your name again though.....

The Guy who helped you move has spare leafs IIRC, even longer ones cut down will do the job. Shouldn't cost you anything - just labour.
You may not have cash, but you do have options . . . .

We can chat tomorrow.

Geez, almost been a year since I posted anything in this thread! Well time to fire it back up again. My working on Rachs EL and me getting the VK Calais mobile again has motivated me to get my A into G and start doing stuff to the wagon.

First order of business looks like being a new BEM, the interior bits are starting to play up, the first being the windows. This has only just started happening but the windows will not work when you first start the car. This morning I bashed the dash where the BEM is and they arted working again, hence my leaning towards it dying.

Next thing is an oil leak, I have crap all over my fan belt, pulley, water pump and alternator. It looks like it is coming out of the bolt that holds the water pump in, will know more tomorrow when I get a chance to clean it (it's out with Rach at the moment).

And lastly, a question....

With Rach keeping her EL Cappucino interior I have her gray Fairmont interior to get rid of. I am thinking about putting the seats in mine but, of course, they are car seats. The front are no problem its the raer backs and bolsters. Without actually trying them, am I going to have dramas putting these into my wagon? Suggestions and info welcome.....

Cheers
RD

Bit of an issue with the wagon, something weird is going on. At first start it sits at around 750 rpm but then after 5 mins or so of idling it will start revving itself. Not huge revving but about 2-300 rpm, up and back down to 700-750. Then after another 5 minutes or so of that it will up it's idle to between 1000 & 1100 rpm and stay there.

Idle speed controller maybe? Something else?

Yep ICS is my bet as well.

Swap it for the one on the Fairmont and see if it gets any better.

Well there's been a few threads about this - find them, IIRC I've commented, so has the big fella, EFFalcon, etc. So plenty of search options.

I remembered Banarcus did the whole rear seat thing and have been reading his thread. Found that I even commented on the damn thing, must be getting old and the memory is going quicker than I thought. Will dig the seats out of the Fairy over the next few days and investigate things. You can then give me advise and abuse when I see you next :)

IIRC Mark modded the rear brackets - I swapped covers and cushions onto the different brackets.

Heres a question for the knowledgeable, how do you get the adjusting knobs off seats? The ones on Rachs old Fairmont seats are powdery and I want to swap the ones from my seats onto the Fairmont seats. Can't seem to get 'em off though.....
