Snap no idea what model shifter it is to tell you the truth I am a fairly recent defector from the dark side so my knowledge of the smaller things like this is not complete but I will get there.
Lots of little hiccups on the way but to be expected struck two today first one horn does not work but if i earth it out it goes off I think firerwall reinforcing bracket is a little bit too long cannot get clutch to sit right. So something to play with tomorrow. Cheers Steve |

Latest update not a lot has been happening been crook again. Some advice young fellas don't get old!
 HAve not hard mounted the cooler yet. Still trying to work out how to run the return line from the cooler. I have seen some pics of ef and el's that have been done and its got me stuffed how they have managed to do it. I will probably have to relocate battery to the boot as there is a bit of metal tubing that has a sensor on it if it wasn't for this It probably could be done. The other option Im am thinking of is a fg cooler that has outlet on other side and do some fancy plumbing. Any opinions would be great.  This is how tight things are around the headlight battery area. Cheers Steve |

Just a quick update. Intercooler basically in just sitting up a bit high will redo brackets tomorrow so it sits a bit lower.
 Lots of fiddly stuff tomorrow got the day off!! |

Great build so far. Im currently in the middle of doing this exact build myself. Cant wait to see the update, your a little further then i am. Tho in fairness im stripping it right back for paint.
Howd you go about clearance on the bonnet? |

Todays photos. As for bonnet clearane had to cut one of the ribs a bit. Will take photo and post soon.

 Nice fit plenty of room at front of motor   Shot of sump clearance not a good photo but there is sufficient clearance can get my fingers between k frame and sump. Will post more clearance shots when motor is back in. Cheers |

A few people have said you can't cut into the ba sump cause of the oil pump or oil pickup is it there.

should not be that hard to make a new oil pick up and just bend it back a little

Yeah I've heard that too. But I had a look and with some careful cutting and welding everything is OK. IN the photos you can see the oil pick up line its close but there is clearance.

Steve i concur, when i was comparin gthe SOHC and DOHC motors it appeared there would be just enough room to cut and shut the sump and provide clearance, if you were extra enthusiastic you could have a slight bubble in your modified sump right where the oil pickup elbow was, and give the K-frame a slight hammering in that location.

Just a little bit of a play around recently. When you mount the BA ecu part of it sits where the washer bottle sits giving you two options. One is to have no washer bottle or relocating washer bottle. I looked into relocating the bottle had a few different bottles but wasn't really happy only real place was in the boot. Then I had a close look at el washer bottle I thought with a bit of trimming and a soldering iron i might be able to do something.
 and this is what I came up with.  I know the raised bit at the back is pointless but had to leave it there for the screw mount. After much measuring cutting and cutting again I have finally got the front bumper back on and fitting and all the intercooler piping sitting nicely whilsy leaving the battery in original position.  heres a shot of area near battery tray nearly all done.  I think I can see a light at the end of the long tunnel. Cheers Steve |

Great work with the washer bottle Steve.
