Hi Guys
About this time last year my son got hold of a written off NL with grand plans to do it up. After a few months of fixing things he has lost interest and it has been sitting in the shed unloved since December. I have finally cracked it with the lazt s**t and purchased it off him. I will give you a brief rundown. as purchased was a write off from vic floods in 2011. Has done 53000kms with service books supplied. first thing to do was strip interior A lot of wiring had shorted out so entire body loom was replaced along with BCM and ECU Carpet was replaced along with seat rails and everything refitted. It came with el gt steering wheel and then he stopped there. To tell truth I had done most of work anyway. All future mods are mine now. So it sat for 9 months. You might see it has LTD woodgrain but it still had cappa arm rests so i had armrests recovered. I think they have come up well. I have refitted door trims look good will get some photos up soon. A few more mods planned but will not do any until vehicle gets registered which will be in Nov as we have three car regos in Sept and Oct don't want to add another one. Little bit more work om loom today just neatend a few things up and labelled everything.
Here you can se Muzzas tacho module all ready to go. And this is the little sucker that has got me stuffed. I purchased motor complete with standars loom off a guy who had grand plans to fit it to his XR6. I have used a mates falcon as a testing bed whilst making this loom. BA n/a looma and turbo looms are very similat apart from extra bit for wastegate solenoid and a couple of other things so i did not even think of this. On a n/a loom this plug or plug extemely similar plugs into a solenoid that controls butterfly valves in the bbm manifold but turbo does not have these. This solenoid sits on the side of the bracket that holds the ecu . I don't know anyone one with ba turbo only fg and I think these would be different I have tried wreckers and cannot get to a ford dealer to quiz them. So does anyone have any idea what this plugs into. Any help would be greatly appreciated its the last piece of the puzzle. Cheers Steve |

Spotted Xr6 in local MAzda dealer. So i asked for a look. The plug does absolutely nothing. Not connected at all. Just a leftover from NA loom. What a relief.

Hi Guys
Sorry I have been a bit slack of late. Anyway have got a fair bit done lately. My work on the loom hit a hiccup, I got kicked out of the dining room and into the shed and Ballarat can be a cold place at night. Now the weather is warming up I have been hard at work. After many headaches swearing etc the loom is finished. Its all tested everything seems to work when it should and all the wires seem to trace back to the correct spot. But of course the big test will be when its wired into the car. Here are some pics This is throttle pedal connection Tacho interface This is modified au clockspring. EF EL cruise control shares its earth with horn whereas BA does not. AS Au has extra wire in clockspring for stereo controls this can now be used for cruise control earth. Air bag plug has to be changed as well. Picture of wiring down column Clutch cutoff for cruise This is Ba brake switch setup fairly messy as you need one signal for brake on one for brake off. I am going to give this a try. Of all things its off a toyota Aurion (great car that one) but it does have the advantage of supplying a signal when brake is off and one when brake is on. All I have to do is fabricate a bracket to hold this and clutch switch. Well thats it for wiring. On another note went to a clearing auction today and picked this up for $45.00 the code means nothing to me. Obviously LSD 3.45 ratio anyone know what it is out of? Thanks Steve |

96DT so EL. Be from EL ghia, NL Concorde, XR6 or EL2 XR8.
96DA is 1996 first used. 96DT means same thing, just a Tickford part number instead. Nice work too. |
