Extreme marvellousness today! No bonnet cutting needed!
The rear bracing of the bonnet is where I thought I had to modify. Not so... This bonnet brace hits the EGR spacer. clearance to edge of the bonnet brace. So, I welded the EGR port shut and the cooling hole. Before and after.. Done. Nearly a goer... |

Ok, the EEC is unusual because it's a Ford Powertrain development EEC that they somehow let go in a production car(an ED XR8). Notice the PT part number and the socketed Eprom? The case also has a hatch for getting at the Eprom. The only reason I used the moates chip was to turn off smartlock.

Yeah Ash, means I'll have to do some cutting if I fit the GT40 intake later.
I think I won't be dissapointed with the performance as it is though Glad you like it Daz! btw I'm still trying to find some Ford badges that i can sand the colour off the back of and paint green. The "Vogue" badge will be easy to change to "Rogue" because it's just a sticker. Then I was going to do the "Electronic Air Suspension" sticker as "Electronic Engine Control IV". |

Yep. Drove it to the petrol station on Saturday with open headers and scared the crap out of everyone:) Initially, when I went round the block I'd forgotten to reset the throttle learn for the trans and it kept shifting back to 1st with the lightest of throttle application, and it shifted that hard it chirped all four tyres!? So after re-doing the TPS learn it shifted properly.
Drove it down to mates' place the same night(also with open headers) and drove very nicely apart from a lack of torque due to no exhaust. Some old lady in a BMW nearly drove off the road when I drove past her down welshpool road I just finished the exhaust back to the first muffler last night so the noise is now bearable. Bought another muffler for the back section this arvo so should have nice and quiet by Saturday night I reckon. I'll get some more photies up when photbucket works again? |

Not just yet. Still got to sort out the transfer shifter.
this was the temporary "exhaust" Made this heat shield using an original BTR heat shield. Some exhaust work. trimmed this area. and this.. for this... It lives. |

Looks good. No water crossings with that airbox. Lucky we don't get enough rain for that anyway.
