Did some more exhaust yesterday, got back to the fuel tank and ran out of bends.
Put the back Billies on... checked out the brakes and there's heaps of meat left on them. Looks like it's meant to be there... Been driving it with just the one muffler and dumping ahead of the diff, sounds like tow truck and it goes very well. It even chirps all four tyres into 2nd gear!? Very happy with the gearbox, need to do some shift tuning with the Optishift to get it spot on. Hopefully I'll have some video of it driving soon. |

I'm alright Ash, How you?
I emailed that bloke about the badges but he has not responded. Took rangie down to busselton for the car show that my mate Travis organises. It got a bit warm a coupla times but was ok if I stayed under 110. I think it may be the belt tension which is not much due to the idler being closer to the engine than stock. Tried to get a shorter belt but no go so tried to get a larger idler pulley...once again they list them but don't actually have any!? It's also running a little lean which won't help. Even so it was better on fuel than the 3.9L. Otherwise it was effortless with nowhere near the throttle required to maintain speed than the 3.9 required. Been driving it round town every day with problems. It actually won Top 4WD at the show!? |

Thanks Greg,
Just fitted this lot tonight which has improved things a bit... New take off '94/5 stang 70mm MAF(same as AU 70 but uses the oval style connector. $80 off ebay... Managed to drag the makeshift ducting over it's bigger outlet. At least until I make a dedicated inlet tube New Ford racing 24lb injectors. You can't get EV1 type anymore so these have the EV6 to EV1 adapters also from Ford racing. $219 for the lot. Just fired it up using the EBGT EEC and it runs alot better already. |

It's actually about the same or worse at the mo Banarcus. It's dropping out of closed loop too early and I've just discovered why. For some reason this 2DDA EEC has MFASW(Fuel economy mode) switched off.
Probably because it was specially made for use in vehicle that didn't have HEGO's or Smartlock. I'll bung the 1/4 horse in it and turn that straight back on along with CID at 351, EGR off and Fan control on. |

Ok now it's better, no actual figures yet but I can see the fuel gauge is not dropping so fast and the O2's are cycling longer.

This is how I adapted a aftermarket cable to the ZF 6spd shifter. Made a stainless end with a nut welded to it's end and used an E-clip and washer to attach it. Normally they have a plastic end...
Made this 2mm stainless bracket and bolted it through the side with 5mm bolts... Now to take the cable back to Flexdrive because it's too short. They're good that way because they'll let me swap it as long as I keep the majority of the cable clean inside the plastic bag. |

Finally got some done on the BF shifter. I had to make this rather elaborate bracket/bellcrank assembly and use a short cable...
Good thing I had a spare gearbox, there's no way I'd have been able to do this on the car.. Tried it out last night with a temporary plate to mostly cover the hole. Will make a full length box that drops right down inside the floor opening so all the shifters will not be exposed to the elements. It works nice and smooth. |
