You should try cutting out a hole behind the grille for more air flow. but i don't know if thats advisable.
keep up the good work ;)

Thanks man,
I'm pretty stoked with the outcome.

I think I might take a page out of B Bear's book and put that PVC tubing from the bottom bar to before the snorkel for some extra air intake.
I'll see how I go,

Cheers,
Russ.

Thanks,
I think I might give that PVC intake tube you have from the front bar to infront of the snorkel a go...

How did you go about doing it?
Is it just as simple as cutting the hole up top and grafting the mandel bent pipe behind the bar?

Cheers,
Russ

yeah i repainted mine, but got a couple stone chips and the black faded, gonna have to get some mesh and solve it that way, looks nicer.

Yeah,
I've got some small stone chipping on mine at the moment,
so I think I might either spray it a silver (Like the factory Fairmont code)
or just go for the black across the middle.

Im leaning more towards the black.

Sounds good :) My explanation will be pretty vague as I did this over 2 years back and didn't keep any numbers on it. I used two roughly 80-90mm pvc pipe ends, one with a 45 degree bend and the other on top a which was a straight piece that I molded with a heat gun over a bowl to make the lip which helped smooth it to the black plastic shroud.
Hope that helps, if you get stuck fell free to ask me.

I thought I'd take a new picture up at a lookout near by,

Next to the mont is my mate's new E36 325.

I really need to get some meshing down the bottom of the front bar.

Nice car mate, I reckon I'm gonna post mine up here now. Can't go past the EL Ghia's haha. Great minds think alike too, I've just ordered BF MkII 'Fairmont Ghia' badging for the back of my car, its currently sitting a bit bogan spec with no badges and 4 drilled holes on the back haha.

So on the agenda for my EL this round:
- Getting the 2nd muffler replaced with straight pipe
- Getting a new twin exhaust tip put on.
- Searching around town for a Fairlane chrome door mould, to mimic teeroy's job and use the door pieces to try and brighten things
- Buying some chrome vinyl, and heat gunning it to the exterior door handles
- Making up a custom dial face on Photoshop.

Next round:
- Grabbing some lowered springs and shocks
- Finally getting those BF Fairmont Badges for the XR6 position style.
- Maybe a polish.

As with cars, phuck all goes to plan straight away.
Today I was able to:
- Get chrome window trim off a NF Fairlane for $40, and put on the front halves,

Image

- Book in my exhaust to have the rear muffler deleted, and a new tip put on,
Something like this:
Image

- Pencil in my corning lamps to be wired to my parker lights,
- Grab some free white vinyl off cut from a local sign shop, for my exterior door handles, (the chrome is unable to be stretched as it's a metallic film and the white should look different.)
and
- Get some EF gauge needles for nothing (I didn't tell them they were in my toolbox, because the guy serving me was a phucking git.)

nice work, good to see inspired someone.
yeah my theory at the wreckers is if it can fit in my pocket, it's free. unless i'm feeling generous. not that there's ever much that's worth anything.

The guy was an absolute cee you en tee.
He was on the phone and kept saying "$40 for the set"
but I thought he was talking to the guy on the mobile,
then he arched up and said "Do you f**k listen?"

I was three seconds away from walking out with them and headbutting whoever came out the door.

But yeah, I'm fitting the rear ones tomorrow,
How did you secure them in?
Because the bolt that was holding them in for the Fairlane will be chopped off.

yeah i know what you mean, arrogant grease monkeys.
just use the securing cap thing off the old one, they just sorta slot into them, may have to use some force with the bent end to get them to stay on.

Just because the guy at the wreckers is a prick doesnt give you the right to go hocking s**t.
Same as the theroy of if its fits in your pocket its free. That is just being a low life scabby theif.
Its people having this outlook that pushes prices up for people who get their parts honestly.
If someone was to come and pinch the parts off your car that you had pinched yourself would you be of the theroythat its ok they fitted in their pocket or would the person who did it be the lowest form of life on the planet?
