It's sold!
As per usual, I didn't get what I wanted, but it's how life goes.

Some bogan bought it... his reason for a new car being that he wrote off his old AU XR6 5 days after buying it.

If he writes this one off, I hope it takes him out too.

Anyway,
Cheers!

I guess this means no more Ghia relations... Sad day man :(
I would have jacked up the price if i heard that, but what can you do. Sometimes you just can't choose your buyers.
I hope for your sake that he actually looks after it.
Best of luck finding your new car Russ...

Yeahh, I know man. He was such a wanker... Oh well.
Hopefully I can find something a little bit exciting to take the Ghia's place.

I went and saw the Escort on Thursday night and it did have a bit of rust under the vinyl roof, but it wasn't bad enough for me to regret entirely... so I offered the guy a ball park figure on how much it'd cost to repair, plus what I was willing to pay for it. He said he'd get back to me by Sunday...

Here's some pictures of it off Gumtree.

It's the 2L OHC Pinto donk, with a two barrel carby on it.
It's all original other than the painted air filter cover, and a CD player.

It was rather straight other than the rust.
Here's hoping that he accepts my offer.

Cheers,
Russ.

It's a 4sp Manual, and it drove really well. Felt like I was going 100mph, but was only just hitting 60kmph.

It's just the rust that got me. It'd need a new vinyl roof too, but what's the fun in having a perfect car?

You are buying a car older then a e-series. Hows ya wallet?

If he accepts my offer, I'd come out in front for what I sold my car for, so my wallet is looking pretty good.

Cool escort though.

And the ute idea got canned, so I thought I'd look into other 4 cylinder cars.

just remember the old carbi 4 bangers especially the eski 2,0ltr are pretty thirsty compared to todays cars, only being 4 speed so no overdrive..

it wouldnt be to much better on fuel over the falcon..
i remember my escort used about 12ltrs per 100 city driving...

otherwise one of my favourite cars.... :)
