today i didnt get much of a chance to look at my car coz i was doing a headgasket and timing guide replacement on my bro's car..
i drained the oil to see if there was any metal filings but found nothing kinda pushes the thought of aux shaft to the side... what could it be?? |

Other things it could be is something simple breaking down in the ignition, it could be lack off fuel. I think you should just check everything one by one, such as -Fuel pressure is good -Plugs not gapped correctly -Leads not rubbing/stuffed -Aux shaft and dizzy cog condition -Internals of dizzy not stuffed/loose. Etc etc

today i pulled the dizzy out and had a look at the gear (couldnt really see the aux shaft end) and it looks fine i advanced the timing a little and engine cranks easier seems like it was firing on comression (way advanced) still does not start but sounds healthier i recon dizzy is a tooth out apparently ecu may have adjusted for something and it has caused my problem

The only way the dizzy could have been a tooth out is if it was fitted that way. Its an easy mistake to make mate.

A tip someone told me when I was having distributor issues. On the dizzy plate (dunno what it is really called) under the rotor there is a section labelled Start and Finish. When you put the dizzy in, point the rotor at Start and push the dizzy all the way in. When it is seated the rotor should now be pointing at Finish and that is exactly #1! Try it, it works....
Cheers RD

True, hmmm...
Could have to do with the ecu "learning" thing, smoothing out and found a problem??? But i doubt it. Maybe just try it again, but check every other link aswell. You have probably just missed something small.

yea i guess so.. as long as there is no marks on the gear i would re- use it.. i just mentioned it because i had a new aftermarket dizzy at the time mine was taken off the road.. and the dizzy gear now has harsh wear marks on the gear... |
