massive drama.... today i had a problem, suddenly my parkers fuse blew
so i replaced it and within 10 secs it blew again... i put in a larger fuse a waited, after about 1 min i saw smoke coming from near cluster, turns out the wires that go to 'bulb out' plug were melting but even after repairing the wires the fuses keep blowin. if the plug is not connected to cluster i do not have this problem but only brake lights work tail lights do not, when i jump the wires together tail lights work but brake lights do not... worndering if any1 has had an issue like this before and could help or if some1 can maybe give me an idea on how to fix the problem, currently driving round with no tail lights BTW running high series cluster, bcm etc |

Yeah good thinking ashcook, I'd look at the wires that run from your parkers at the bulb end and follow it to the firewall. When you did your dash conversion, did you use a complete donor loom or a hybrid?

if its only just started doing then id be almost certain its a short fault or wiring is crossed up in the cluster or plugs somewhere.
Yeah i prob try stay away from using a fuse bigger than the reccommended rating no matter how frustrating it gets, as its in there to pretect the cable for that circuit as you found out. The relay for the headlights and all that is in the fuse panel just below the cluster.... is all the wiring behing that good? it gets pretty bunched together and tight. When you say jump the wires together what do you mean by that? Its going to be one of those simple things that will be a pain in the a** but yeah id just grab a wiring diagram and start tracing everything back to point of origin checking all holes ect its run through. otherwise next best thing is to grab a meter, unplug everything and start buzzing everything out to see if theres a fault to earth/ ground this is very time consuming though

Sounds like the park line to the rear is shorting to earth - if you check that line to earth at the plug with a meter, that will most likely confirm it.
Good point on the wiring when at smash repairers. I'd suspect probably a wrong globe is fitted - a single filament instead of a dual one. Pull the brake/park globes out, switch parkers on, if problem goes away, then . . . . . . As mentioned, not a good idea trying a larger rating fuse - particularly here, as you may've damaged the bulb out circuit. The brake lights shouldn't work with the plug pulled, so in your setup, sounds like they're not wired to the bulb out.
