I crimped mine on the inside so it touched the metal properly.

So I'm still getting there. Mainly waiting on my brother in law to have a bit of time to do my intercooler piping. Its mostly going to be welded stainless steel piping. Maybe this weekend.

I got back my new custom length accelerator and cruise cables. Had them done by Marine & Industrial Control Specialists in Carrum Downs.
I also got my gauges and will finish mounting and wiring them in tonight.

Got the ignition leads all made up too :D

Also switched the ignition to on so the fuel pump would prime and no leaks in the lines or rail anywhere...yet

Where did you get those red ignition lead protectors/socks from and how much? The ones I've tried sourcing are too expensive and usually only come in a pack of 4.

All looks like its coming together though! Good stuff.

Yeah they werent overly cheap but I got them off ebay. I cant remember where from I'd have to look at my receipt when i get home. Think they were just something like this but came in a pack of 8.

After a long time waiting to be done I finally got the intercooler piping done with the help of my brother-in-law. It was quite a lot of mucking around as I wanted it all welded with as little silicon joins as possible.
Only joins are at the turbo, intercooler and throttle body. Its all stainless steel with 2.5" hot side and 3" cold side. Mounted the BOV near the throttle body and I can now put all the panel back on! :D

A lot of success last night! I got the front bumper fully bolted on. Only had to file off about 5mm in a few places to clear except that the passenger side fog light hits so I had to remove it :x and will figure that out later on. Intercooler looks mad behind the bar tho

Then I spent ages trying to get it to fire up and after checking I had fuel and spark and playing around with a few settings on the software I did it! She came roaring to life! And I must say I nearly shed a tear I was so glad
Its running mega rich at the moment but running none the less. Idle was a tad low and I dont have any idle control on the bigger throttle body so using the idle stop screw on it.
Went to start it again but coz Id been cranking it for so long the battery was starting to die so that was it for the night. Wacked the charger on the battery and left it for the night. Tonight ill see how I go getting everything running good :D

Pulling my motor and gearbox back out and upgrading clutch to an xr6t organic HD with larger billet flywheel then doing my timing chain, guides and tensioner while engine is out and also new cam. Possibly a custom grind, haven't quite decided on what one yet. Then a retune on 14 or 15 psi. And
Ofcourse some pedders coilovers to keep the thing on the road! Might do the suspension stuff first before anything though. Should be fun! :D

Sounds awesome! I'll be looking at a set of the pedders coilovers down the track too I reckon. :D

I did a bit of fiddling last night and got the ignition reference right so it lines up with the software.
Made it idle heaps better. Was at about 20 degrees advanced but now back to ten degrees and thats what the ignition map says at idle. Still running pretty rich.
