Seat covers look like they need to 'wear in' a bit ? ie the cover is too big for the cushion - kinda like seat fat rolls if you get my drift ? Is it because they're still new perhaps ?
Nice read Marc - keep us posted on how the BBM goes ! |

damn marc, the seats definitely look sexier with the trim...how much did it set you back again? I think you may have answered this question, but I don't remember the answer nor can I be bothered scrolling through the pages to read it again...I'm capped.

Looking bloody good there mate.
Re. the advancing issue with the auto. It probably was sending an error code causing a form of limp mode. This thread makes me want to do some tidying up on my car... And even start a thread on it... I have done so many minor mods, just to many to list.......

FordFairmont, KWIKXR, Andrew, kennyken - cheers guys.
SLO247 - it is sprayed matte black but will one day get a newer wheel put on, one day SHTEEVE - yeah they are a bit loose at the top, but after a week they have pulled down a bit, i may just have to slide some foam up there to stretch it out a tiny bit, you don't actually notice it in the car, that pic made it look worse. bbm update on the way. PHONG - cheers, i didn't mention the cost before, but all up was $850 and a big wait, so worth it though, will be getting a few more pieces through them though. MadMatt - yeah go for it, its the small detail mods that make the car, people get caught up in the big stuff. MoNGooSE - cheers, but im not seeing where i copied you. more pics of interior and BBM update inbound. |

FEW MORE PICS OF INTERIOR
few more pics of interior that ive got, non are really arty or anything, just sorta detail stuff, last one i like it shows that if fitted correctly it fits perfectly and holds the contours of the seat. DETAILS ON BBM if got the thing back from welding, and it looked rough, even the welds ballooned out onto the inside of the manifold so i have had to spend ages grinding them down, and smoothing the inside of the manifold down, and taking all the original casting marks down, these pics were taken a few hours ago, i forgot to take pics after i gave up for today as they look alot smoother, will get more when ive finished with it. i am yet to start on the bottom half of it, as i was thinking of just reworking the bottom half of the one currently on the car as it has been ported already, all ill have to do is take the butterflies out and make the initial part of the short runner (where the butterflies were) larger. as you can see i opted to have it cut above the lower vacuum pipes and sensors, so i dont have to lengthen hoses or re-re-do my wiring loom. Anyhoo pics. |

cheers mate, yeah they are very comfortable, as they come backed in soft foam aswell, i find the material much softer than my fathers AU3 Ghias leather.

Throttle and intake upgrade
i finaly got my throttle body from the fast-xr group by, its from the 1st batch that were 68mm. bolted it on and noticed a touch of change down low but nothing major, then i decided to fit my unfinished 3" stainless intake with a silicone joiner (to cover an unfinished weld). and then the differnace was noticeable. anyhoo pics of it next to a stocker 64mm unit i didnt fit my new BBM as my plans have changed slightly, see my next post |

im having a major dilemma at the moment.
TO BOOST OR NOT TO BOOST i have saved just over $5k and was planning to buy a snort Stage 2 kit, and all the stuff to make it work, 3" exhaust, j3 chip/tune, cooler piping, fuel pump, injectors etc, BUT... im seeing XR6 Turbo's coming up for $14 > $15k, and I was swayed a bit that way, but i really like my car as its finally feeling sorted, and im thinking a 150,000km old xr6 turbo would be not only a stocker and boring (as idd have to save for mods again), but probably a hornets nest of s**t going to break, at least if stuff breaks on an e-series its rather cheap to repair, and still being in Uni thats a big plus. im thinking having boost on my car would be great and have built the last few mods around that, intake manifold, and head were built for boost etc. but i am just a bit apprehensive about spending 5k on a 7k car, but that said i dont think i could sell it either, but im not happy with 160>170rwkw and around low 14's anymore, so im 98% convinced that ill be ordering a snort kit in the next week and going nuts over the next month or so. what do you guys think? |
