So the past few months i've noticed a problem with the cooling system. It would tend to get really hot really quickly on a warm to hot day, and take forever to cool down again. It would get so hot sometimes the LPG converter wouldn't work properly and the car would barely run. Horrible in HWY traffic.

Yesterday I pulled the cooling system apart and took the radiator out, and this is what I found...
Image

It was all clogged up with crap and rotted from about half way down. So I got rid of this and put a new one in, cleaned all the hoses and flushed out the engine and Air Conditioning Condenser for better airflow ...

Image

The thermostat looked a bit dodgy so i'll be putting a new one in sometime soon, although when I put it all back together and started it up, the cooling system was working like i've never seen it before, new! As it was idling at temperature the thermostat was opening and closing, allowing the new radiator to do its job, which it obviously was as it kept closing every few minutes. The gauge was moving up and down slightly too to support this!

I'm really happy that it's all working again now. Hope everyone's FORD is going well!

you and having holes in things aye :P

So i've gotten my hands on another Falcon, as you can see by my signature! It came with some wheels, thought i'd post the pics up and you can help me decide on what you guys think looks better! I'm kind of leaning towards the stockies. They seem to look less like they're attempting to be something they're not.

You can also see some of my late polishing efforts on the right!

I haven't been doing anything to the EL in ages now! I've been jobless so no money to put into it, though I'm still very keen. Hopefully i'll have a job again soon within the next 2-3 weeks and I can start modding and updating you all on my progress!

Very keen to get back into it! :D

Well I've finally gotten myself a job at JB Hi-Fi, which is pretty awesome! And just in time, the EL needed some desperate attention, a few ignition problems and other bits and pieces, but basically has ended up in a few nice new parts including :

- Century 620CCA Ultra High Performance Battery
- Brake Pads
- Distributor
- Ignition Coil
- NGK High Performance Stainless Steel LPG Leads
- Air Intake Hose
- Air Box Springs
- High Strength Bonnet & Boot Struts
- K&N Air Filter
- Bosch LPG Plugs
- Oil & Oil Filter

Soon to come will be:

- Super Pro Rear Bushes
- Window Tint
- 5600watt Pioneer System
- Extractors & High Flow Cat
- 3" Tail Pipe & Dual 3.5" Dump Tips
- New Slotted Rotors, Pads, Front & Rear.

And eventually some new wheels.

I"ll try and keep you all up to date! :D

So today I got all my rear Super Pro bushes to put into my EL! I managed to get one of the upper trailing arm bushes out and discovered how difficult it can be to get the old ones out, hopefully i've figured out a good technique for doing the rest tomorrow.

Image

I also yesterday scored myself a full set of DL LTD ELECTRIC SEATS, WOODGRAIN & LEATHER DOOR TRIMS and all the chrome door handles! So I'm cheering! It gives me an excuse to go down to Melbourne too!

This means I have another whole set of these DL LTD Door Trims exactly the same available for sale! Let me know if you're interested.

Wow, that's a fair bit spent on it recently, if you are doing a lot of bushes a cheap press from somewhere like supercheap is a great investment, I've got one, saved myself heaps doing all my own bushes, fairly easily too.

Cheers

Thanks ToranaGuy, It was a bit of a struggle at times just using a vice, but once you get the hang of it, I found it not very difficult to do at all. :)

I finally finished replacing all the bushes in the rear last night, (or early this morning) at 1AM after working all day! Very tiring but definitely worth it! The car feels 10x better than before, and I'd recommend replacing your old bushes if you want a handling and ride improvement!

They also look pretty cool haha, especially when you re-spray the components you're replacing the bushes in! Here's some photos of before and after. :)

Nice work on the bushes, I've gotta do a few on my Eb Ghia soon, as well as there will be a few on the red Xr8 required for roadworthy, and I'm sure we have a couple of do on my mates fairlane soon too. I'm glad I own a press!

Cheers

Rear brake pads arrived this afternoon as soon as I got home from school, so I fitted them, ready for my Melbourne trip next week. Here's a picture of the old ones vs the new ones. That's all new brake pads all 'round now. Feels much much better haha.

Just been working lately and studying for the HSC ( pfft ) so not much has been happening to the car. Though i've recently decided to respray the front along with the boot and rear bar, so i'm considering changing the front to a EL FAIRMONT front. What do you guys think?
