I think the are just lows that have sagged a bit so like 40-50mm drop and I got away with standard shocks with superlows for a fair while but I think they were screwed when the springs went in , my driving style probs didn't help haha

Haha fair enough... Hmmm I don't know what to do about ride height... Lowerer it and lose even more carrying capacity+flexibility with regards to where I can drive, or just drop it and make it look heaps good lol

Are you planning on changing the front bar at all?
Makes a big difference. Mine is running stock suspension (and I'm pretty sure the XLS runs the XR springs etc) and with the aftermarket bar on it, it's low as sh*t. Also, how much experience have you had driving a lowered car? It's a pain in the a**. Lol. And as far as your rears go you're running leafs so there's a few options: Lowering block Reroll the leafs Remove a leaf or two and finally, which I wouldn't advise, flip the leafs. A mate of mine did the last to his navara as a temp thing... took out the bump stops, too... it's low but it's a s**t ride. |

Yeah eventual go to the same as yours with match skirt and nice tray back.
I have no experience with lowered cars, so I don't want to find out the hard way that it sucks lol I'm liking lowering blocks purely for cost, cause if it does s**t me then pretty much no harm done sorta thing.

If you're going to the same bar as me then I wouldn't bother lowering it unless you want it touching the ground.
Obviously I'm rolling steelies at the moment (16s) so that makes it a bit closer to the ground but I've had experience driving lowered cars and I've still scraped my poor car a few times. I was going to lower mine until i put this bar on, now I'm not going to. It's already low enough (each to their own taste though) Also I don't know what the roads up there are like as opposed to down here. The only thing I might do to make it look a little lower is make something to go across the wheel arch so it's tucking a bit of tyre. The upside to this is I've managed to get a low car without sacrificing the feel of the ride... it's just a bit of a pain in the a** when I come across a slightly steep driveway or speed hump. Most aren't too bad, though... a bit of crab walking and I'm sweet. I should get around to putting my skirts on. Think there may be legal issues with lowering blocks but I'm not 100% sure. Plus I'm in Vic so differences in the laws. |

Yeah it is a pain sometimes having the car lower than normal but I can still take my car anywhere a factory one can with a little bit of creativity lol . but if you were to lower it, wouldn't it be better to get used to a lower car with a normal bodykit rather than one that will cost more to fix I supose but yeah if you lower it you can always raise it again at a later date

Haha... I'll garuantee his genuine XR front bar will be worth twice what the aftermarket XR50 will be worth.
But I see your point. Personally, I'd wait until I had the bar on to decide wether I wanted to lower it or not (which I did and decided against) but it's each to their own. It's not particularly difficult to raise/lower the car. Like I said before, Mine is stock height but I can't get a jack under it. |

I didn't either, mate. It was crazy when I put it on.
I would've dropped something like 2 inches. I haven't actually measured it, though. -shrug- If you want to lower it now, it'll look good for the meantime, just adjust it once you get the new kit. |

Actually on the lowering topic my boss got a 'coilover kit' for his race car its just a threaded piece that goes over the original shocks after the original spring seat is cut off if you get what I mean, might be something to look into so you can get your utes sitting where you want , I think he paid $100 but it could be more

Yeah its not a true adlustable coilover just turns the shock into a height adjustable one I will get some pics for you tommorow
And I had a look at the shocks that had the lowered springs on them and they seemed pretty good still. and I can't just have the springs but the boss said they are yours for $40
