Hi Fellas,
I thought I should share my project...an EL Fairmont

I bought this in Feb 2008 as a repairable write off from pickles for a price I couldn't pass up.

So, what it was when I got it....
Year: 1997
Colour: Sparkling Burgandy
K's: 151,000
-CD Player, New Gas System, Good tyres, full service history and a bloody clean interior...

What it needed:
-Passenger Guard
-Passenger Door
-Windscreen
-Bonnet

-A pillar pushed out
-Front inner guard replaced and body straightened out to suit
-FULL REGENCY INSPECTION :(

All work on the car has been done by myself and it was Registered finally on the 23rd of december last year. It sat dormant for some time as I had several other projects.....

Here are some progress piccies:

Side on - Bonnet, Guard and door removed

Image

Stuffed windscreen and bent pillar

Image

Inner guard bent plus body bent

Image

Side on

Image

Bonnet just fittted, bought it from Richmond motor salvage for 200 bucks....only bloody one I could find at the time! No windscreen yet

Image

Notice the bent passenger A pillar....All straight after some port a power action!

Image

Pillar again

Image

Panels fitted - Everything opens and closes and lines up (after allot of mucking about.....)

Image

All painted, Mucked up the clear coat, however I was very happy with my paint job until that....Going to repaint it in the next month.

Where I am at with this car:

Things done since it was registered:
-Installed new Headunit (Sony CDXGT-570 3 preouts etc...)
-Driven it almost 6,000k's (without any issues!)

Over the last few weeks I have bought up several bits and pieces for this car, the biggest one being a turbo kit from snort.

So, the bits I have waiting to go on:

Snort Stage 3 Kit:
1 x full custom s/steel tuned length turbo manifold
1 x 50mm external wastegate
1 x Garrett gt40 turbocharger (rated over 650hp)
1 x boost reference fuel regulator
1 x front mount intercooler (core size 600x300x76)
3 inch s/steel dump pipe with o2 sensor bung
1 x 2 inch s/steel screamer pipe (from wastegate)
Teflon braided oil feed lines, vclamps, oil sender t
Teflon oil drain lines gaskets and fittings

Suspension:
-Pedders front "Super Lows"
-Pedders rear "Lows" (car has gas tank in boot...)
-KYB Gas Shocks (Front and Rear)
-Pedders Camber Kit

Wheels:
I bought last week from a mate a set of 17" AJR Signature rims. Having tyres fitted to them this thursday so should have them on shortly after that.

Stereo:
In addition to fitting the sony headunit, I also have some pioneer speakers that I have pulled out of a slightly damamged ef I am fixing (new radiator support, front end).

ECU:
I lashed out a couple of weeks ago and bought a J3 chip and programmer. I have had it in the car working with a 80k speedlimiter set so I knew the chip was doing its job! Now to work out how to use Tuner Pro RT properly!!

Exhaust:
Car is going in to exhaust plus prospect to have a 3" exhaust fitted once the turbo is on. Waiting until that is done so they can go straight onto the dump pipe.

Looking good Simon, will be interested to see how she goes with the turbo bolted on, have a mate hassling me to get one put on mine lol. Nice work too, good to see it restored instead of being wrecked,
