I have a video so will put it up later tonight.

I got the pipe from DKNE, cost $120 posted for flanges, bends, hotdog and straight pipe. I got the Hooker muffler from an ebay seller, if you type in "Hooker 2.50" it will come up.

Cheers

Very nice. I'm looking forward to the video, curious to hear the sound.

I got my tailpipe done today and it is a bit of a mixed story.

It sounds good (really quiet in the cabin compared to the temporary dump tip) and found the type of tip I wanted. Also when I had it stopping at the diff it was almost stalling everytime I stopped at lights, not sure if this was because I had the battery disconnected for a few hours when welding and it reset the ecu though. Now I have a tailpipe it seems to be normal.

But it is also done in press bends because I didn't specify I wanted it done in mandrel bends. Feel pretty silly for not specifying but also kind of p****d off that an exhaust place which advertises themselves as doing custom performance exhausts would put press bends in the tailpipe without consulting when the exhaust before it is done in mandrel.

Don't have good internet at the moment as at uni but will post up pics/video when I get home.

Edit: Here's a video from when I first started it. Sorry it is a bit hard to hear, my camera has pretty s**t sound pick up. I've done about 500km since fitting it and I think it is slightly louder even with the tailpipe, but less droney. Will get another in a few days with the tailpipe after I see if the note changes at all.

Negative. You can kinda hear what it sounds like at the end of the video, my camera doesn't pick up sound well. I'll try and get one with one of my better cameras.

Sounds pretty good i reckon, seems to have a nice tone to it, without being too loud. I was initially thinking it was going to be fairly loud, especially dumping at the diff

Probably sounds way better in person, my camera is also pretty crap at picking up sound and makes things sound a bit different to what they actually are.

Here's a video that is a little better, although still sounds different to its actual sound. Shows off my lookalike VE SS tips too, although in hindsight still wish I had got real ones and just made my own.

Now just need to work up the enthusiasm to lower it. Maybe Sunday.

I know. My self-discipline is horrible.

I have a question though for anyone who has done an AU conversion. For the electrical side do I just have to modify the auto loom (reverse/neutral switch wires) and then get my ECU reflashed? I read that you can get Ford to do it, but as soon as I hear Ford I think $$$$. Reason I am going this option is because I believe the manual ecu that comes with the conversion is S2 and I am S1.

Thanks

I have a series 2. It didnt need flashing.

There is a 4 pin plug and a big round plug on the auto.

Bridge 2 wires on the 4 pin plug to bypass the neutral switch. The other 2 pins go to your reverse light switch.

On the big round plug cut 2 wires and wire in a resister as per the resistor trick in Voaxace's guide. This stops the fans from running permanently.

I only cut the 2 wires on the big round plug and used wire terminals to slot into the 4 pin plug so its easy to put an auto in again.
