Well this is the new look. Like a new car. Just been trying to get some issues with the front end sorted, so haven't been doing much else. I have a set of superlows here, debating whether to fit them. The exhaust will be getting fixed up later in the week, I bent it on a kerb.. I'd like to thank UPI for supplying the seats and doortrims for $160, and ELF100CAPRI for supplying the EL Grille, side moulds, and other hard to find pieces, along with answering my stupid questions. The interior is much nicer than the old stuff, I hate leather and wood, so I'm happy now. I'll get some better pictures when I have time.

that's looking tidy dan, those seats look better than mine...

just noticed the rear fairmont badge has gone from the left side rear, did u have it filled and painted?
also are u missing the b pillar blackouts on the door frames? or did s1 not have them. they are originally made of thick, stick on vinyl, can probably still get them new.

Car is looking very tidy Dan, well done :)

The worst part about the grain is when the tabs that hold it on the door trim go, they flap around

I found a site that makes aftermarket grain spears for EF EL.

Mate, that is looking awesome. Clean and smooth FTW. The EL grill seems to suit it well i think and the interior looks so damn clean it's like brand new. Looks much better than the half leather seats it had before i reckon.

Superlows for the win mate, i reckon it would make the Fairmont look even better. I could really do with a pair of them for the rear in my EF

Are they actual spears? Or the stickers?

Thanks for the kind words. Swap wheels with me. :P

What springs do you have at the moment? I'll have to look through your photos again. I'm going to try the supers in the back I reckon, it sits a bit higher than the front. AFAIK lows in the front and supers in the back is pretty level. The interior is pretty mint, the seats were filthy when I got them, but they cleaned up so well, I was really surprised. I like it alot better than the old interior too. I got some EL Gauge cluster faces and needles today too, just like you. Got those, a PCV valve and the centre vent duct from the dash for $6 from the self serve wreckers here. I love it :D

Thanks KWIKXR. I may be needing some advice re the boot install too.

I wouldn't have a clue what springs are in mine to be honest as they came with the car. I know it is all Pedders gear though. But seeing as the struts are Pedders Sports Ryder, they have the lower mounted spring seat, so just by fitting 'low' springs up front with these struts it's almost around superlow height. The rear is another story, i think i have lows in the rear as it sits maybe half an inch lower than standard XR height. I had the rear shocks out a while ago and found that one of them has died in the a** lol so i need new shortened shocks and a fresh pair of superlows to fix that issue.

Self serve wreckers are really a gift from God aren't they . Awesome pick up for $6, good work.

Regarding the boot install, anytime mate. Im still searching around for a few bits and pieces i need so will try and get some progress done on that this weekend

Thats interesting, I didn't know they did those. They should start doing pieces in Piano Black. I suppose you could paint them...

Are you going to get some? Is your NF an S1 or 2?

They only wood I like is the LTD stuff, but still, I wouldn't be paying s**t to put in it my car.

OT, looks like the superlows I have will be going in after all. I thought f**k it, it needs to be lower, I don't mind wog crawling over big speedhumps and driveways. Hopefully it handles better too.

I already have door spears. Mind you though, they have a couple of clips broken and these would make good replacements.

I think mine is a series 2, as I have the passenger airbag.

Did you have a look at the dash fascia they do in grain. That would look crap imo  Looking close at the pic they show the trip computer, climate control etc, looks like s**t against the grain.

Wog crawling over speed humps  Whatever does it for ya buddy.

It was a joke, as everybody seems to think superlows are low as.

I know you have wood spears, its an NF! Pass airbag means NF2, so you should have the dark brown plastic spears, right?

I think the rest of their stuff was stick on laminate stuff. Wonder what the pricing is like.

I really don't get the whole woodgrain thing....

Yeah plastic spears.

I dont think there is any stick on stuff on that site. They make a grain fascia and the piece it connects to in around the shifter.

Theres no way thats stick on s**t. but its not real timber either

I wouldn't mind some real wood grain door spears though.
