I've been a bit confused by this...

In the EL ghia's, they were basically an XR6 with a different exhaust and all the fairmont stuff..

I take it that isn't the case with EF's?

I ask because if it is the same with EF's, then you already essentially have XR suspension in it if your car is a genuine Ghia.

EF Series 1 Ghias didn't get ANY tickford treatment at all.

SLO247, updating the ghia badges on the side made a huge improvement on the ghia, we put the newer EL Ghia style badging on the sides near the indicator (also put clear indicators in) and on the rear end of the car made it look a lot neater and more modern.

Heres a pic you can just see them behind the front wheel arch, someone may have a closer up pic you can see.

Good to know... was abit worried he'd go to put the struts in and discover that they were the same as the ones he had...

Shame you are not over here.. I have the whole front undercarriage from an EL Ghia here. (which is tickford xr6)

Just noticed my new beast has lovells thoughout.. think I prefer the progressive springs to kings anyway.

Hahaha all good Frankieh.

NAfairlane..., I thought about changing the badges, but the ones on the quarters I'm going to pull off anyway, and I'll be taking the badges off the rear filler panel and filling it too.

Got more pictures of yours? Looks nice.

Nah no more at the moment, she's in need of a bad polish since i took it down south and someone sideswiped it so i need a new rear bumper  once the mods start rolling again i'll make a build thread. I'm watching this thread though, twin cars! Here's mine as a stocker..

Looks great. Looking forward to seeing more. If I knew the FTR's would look that good on it I would have gone for them instead. Oh well.

I want more details on that custom grille too.

I didn't make this particular grille (its dodgy anyway lol) but basically just take your grille off, take the inner grille off (held in by tabs if i remember correctly) go down to supercheap or anywhere that sells the meshing, then cut away the shape for the grille and attach it to the back of the outer grille then use a strong adherent to make it stick.. then put a ford badge on.. pretty easy BUT it will leave you with square holes just infront of the meshing on the outer grille. We just used white sticky tape to cover the holes till we work out a better solution, or i buy an LTD grille

I don't think i've ever typed the word grille so many times..

It really isn't that hard but it transforms the look of the car.

Also if you want, underneath the white paint on the grille its actually metal, so if you strip the paint back you can have a completely chrome looking grille.

So basically what I'm going to do with this one here anyway. LOL.

I'm about to go put the Fairmont Moulds back on the doors. The Fairlane ones are just Bowed too much, and are refusing to sit flat. Oh well....

Well that was a hell of a messy job, and they aren't on perfectly straight, but pretty damn close. I pulled off the Ghia badges on the quarters too, and I'll pull the 4.0 OHC blah blah stickers off the door moulds too.

Next thing it needs is a polish to clean up where the badges were.

Haha. Hurry up :D

Today My suspension arrived from Frankieh, I love getting up to a delivery. Started to change over the rear springs before, but I had to go and get an 18mm socket and spanner for the bolt and nut on the shock. Should all be in on the weekend at latest. Not much getting done with this rain and only a small carport to work in. My mate should be helping me on sat/sun.

Tomorrow, I'm going to pull out the seat and fit the new handbrake lever. Finally found a T50 Torx bit at Repco in Salisbury, $15 I think it was. At least I can assess the damage on the seat when it is out too.
