Thanks mate.
I was thinking last night actually whether heat would sort them out. I have put the Fairmont ones back on anyway. |

I'll get pics when it stops raining, but I've done a few more things.
last night I fitted the leather handbrake lever. Looks great, however when I removed the drivers seat I discovered the metal was gone around where the bottom cushion bolts to the seat frame. It needs a tear repaired anyway, does anybody know If an upholesterer will also be able to weld that and fix it? I also just put the EF XR springs in the back. It sits perfect. Very happy. Pics later. |

I now have Pics of the Ghia after cleaning it today. Sits perfect to my tastes with the XR springs.
I'm very happy. I'll also chuck this one in because I love this photo for some reason. Its been raining like crazy here and after driving through muddy roadworks, the s**t was everywhere haha. Next is to cut and polish it and clean up all the leather. Not much has happened due to the rain and working on my mates new NL. |

Sits a lot better now with the XR height springs in the rear.
Haha love the last shot too, thats the only problem with white cars, they get dirty very easily. |

Yeah the mud got caked up pretty bad. You should have seen under the arches.
The white is surprisingly good at hiding the dust though. With the ride height, it sits nice but its not practical anymore. When I washed it, I found the back wheels have already started destroying the splash guards, and the LH sill lip is folded up haha. At least I can bash it out easily. Its also getting stuck by the front resonator on my driveway now, but I'm moving back out, so It wont be a problem soon. Best mate is I sold the front struts and my old backs to my mate for $50 to lower his NL. SO I just paid for postage. I might bring the front down with the shocks that have a lower spring seat, and get some big sway bars, but thats a while away. For now I'm just enjoying it. |

Thanks Frankieh.
Why haven't you been updating us on yours? As for mine, I just used a two-step leather cleaner/conditioner on the seats, shifter, wheel and handbrake lever. I'm going to polish the paint today too to clean up the s**t left from all the rain, and the door moulds being stuck on and falling off so many times haha. |

SLO247 wrote: Well that was a hell of a messy job, and they aren't on perfectly straight, but pretty damn close. I pulled off the Ghia badges on the quarters too, and I'll pull the 4.0 OHC blah blah stickers off the door moulds too. Next thing it needs is a polish to clean up where the badges were. Sidemoulds are a complete pain trying to get right. That's one reason why I left mine off! lol laziness ftw Looks tidy anyway.

It was very difficult getting them to stay on after they had been off. I reckon they have been on and off about 5 times. I hope they are staying on now, looks like they are.
Cheers. |

Hey Craig, just got home from grabbing that seat base. You are a legend! I'm not sure if you are asking me whether I need pics or asking me to take them, but I'll be taking them. I'll do it tomorrow with my mate. My drivers mirror isn't cracked at all, rather the mirror and the mount (separated by the swivel bit) are slowly separating. It wobbles around a little bit, but squeaks like f**k crazy when I drive and I hate it. If you have a Dynamic White one, I'd love it. I'll get pics of how f**k the old base is. Its seriously f**k haha.
Thanks again Craig. Oh BTW, I have used Selleys Silicon windscreen sealant to stick the moulds now. Rock solid. Problem was I was trying to do them over the rainy weekend, not letting them set long enough and it was literally washing off. Double sided tape did f**k all, now I know why. I need to stick the front quarter badges on tomorrow too, the tape held them till I washed it. Tomorrow got a day off, going to do a bit of creative work with the amp mounting in the boot, and tidy all the wiring. Good fun. |

I am very happy, because I finally the worst thing about the Ghia sorted. When I bought it, the only real fault I could find was that the drivers seat base had f**k leather. I later found it wasn't even bolted to the frame, because the metal underneath was f**k up. Apparently a common thing.
ELF100CAPRI was an absolute legend, he grabbed one for me at Lonsdale U Pull It out of an identical car they were wrecking. He even bought it up north so I could grab it one night after work. Thanks again mate, can't thank you enough. Sorry ELF100CAPRI. I do finally have a picture or three of the old base. Here it is fitted. Needs a hell of a clean, but now looks good again. Now I'm just going to add the bottom metal bracket off the old one onto the new one, as I didn't notice before. |
