Thanks for all the feedback and opions guys!

I think I like the grey that's on Mick's NA the best, the charcoal one, and yeah misk, i will be doing EF colour coded handles/mirrors quite soon too :)

One thing I want to look into is if I can fit rear handles to the front doors, eliminating the key locks and just relying on the remote to open up the car.. i know the possible problems I could run into doing this, but its probably better than having someone break into the car and possibly steal it.

I know the VN-VS commodores you could do this, but I wanna look into if the holes are the same sizing in the doors...

Anyone care to shed some light on that topic?

Also finished my painting over all the primer tonight, so all rust repair is complete :D

Going to go get a new rear muffler and tailpipe section tomorrow, fix rear window motor, fit Kenwood CD player, and all new door locks/ignition barrel/boot lock :D

should be a productive day!

The rear handles are actually shorter in length than the front ones.

It is easy to delete the passenger side front as the ELs already had the lock removed.

You really need a mechanical way to get into the car, or at least the engine bay.

A flat battery would mean you can't get in the car, or the engine bay to replace the battery.

Cheers
BenJ

1/2 a point to CobraED!!!
I got the can from Autobarn, not BigW lol :P -- but it IS colour coded to my paint code :D

Thanks BenJ, I was gonna rig up some sort of remote mounted release from under the car in case of emergency... like a second cable and a handle under the car somewhere to release the bonnet, or possibly make it so the back seats could be folded down from inside the boot, and go a bit of comando crawl action! lol

I'm sure there'd be some way of mounting a rear handle in the front door tho... just gotta get myself down to the wreckers and test it on their cars 1st, not mine! lol

cheers,
spud.

Well, had a productive day today, got 2 new centre mufflers, 2.5" pipe over the diff, and 3" for the straight part from the diff back -- all topped off with a nice chrome tip tucked under the bar :)
Props to Schmee for the exhaust work today! 8-)

Also got home and fitted up the new rear window motor and a CD player :)

PICS:

cheers,
spud.

Don't ya just love the E-series door cards.....so easy to remove and install. I was doing that today, swapping and changing door cards between the boxcars I have here
I was expecting to see map pockets on the rear door cards being a LTD? Or did the early models not have them?
Hows the exhaust sound now....better than the old stock system I bet!

haha yeah mick, she sounds sweet cruising at 2,000rpm, but being a 3speed most of the time is 2,000rpm! haha!
anything over that i think theres more engine noise, but i'm sure you'd hear the difference from outside the car...

with the doorcards, i'm a little annoyed mine don't have the woodgrain inserts too! (can see where they were!) and yeah, map pockets must have come in on the NC/DC models...

cheers,
spud.

Too noisy for a family ride mate.

We want to be able to hear our cars, not be deafened by them.

Cheers

my fairlane only has 1 muffler, altho it could be quieter due to the fact its the same size as the large factory one. but if you have a sports one it could possibly be too loud.

ben, i wish i heard your exhaust while you were up here as im looking at the same one for my wagon but undecided whether to go 1 muffler or 1 muffler and 1 resinator

yeah i wasn't being too serious bout the one muffler lol
one large and one small with 2.5" is def a nice note over standard without being overly loud.
i have one magnaflow muffler and one resonator (no cat) and its too loud.
but getting rid of the cat mad it a fair bit louder, so i think the one reso one muffler combo is quite good if your after a bit of a note
