Hey mate, it's a bugger you have to sell your LTD..
Just wanted to ask/point out a couple of things.. The DA/EA's didn't have Smartlock, yours looks like it has a Smartlock key barrel. The seats look like EB/ED or NC style Fairmont or Fairlane and velour. Also the LTD's had power seats, which also makes me think they're out of a Fairmont or Fairlane. And I've never seen a DA with colour coded side strips and doorhandles before.. None of those are bad things though, just doesn't seem to fit with it being a DA. But judging by the RPM the engine was doing it that photo at 101KM's it looks like it's a Borg Warner 3spd with a 2.77 ratio differential, which would have been fitted to DA1 LTD's. It's definitely a nice car though, you should park your work car on the road and keep your LTD in the drive, since you could legally park your work vehicle on public roads with it being registered until you can get your LTD done?

not all of thats true, the late EA/DA got the tibble locks as did EB, but not all are smartlock, smartlock is just a small sensor with 3 wires that externally you can not tell the difference.
the DA didnt get electric seats and you will find even the DC LTD didnt always have power seats, it was more of an option on them still. mostly found with leather and sunroof and the external bumpers was i believe an option or it has been installed from a DC LTD or NC III Fairlane. tho i believe you are right about the 3 speed and 2.77LSD, i dont think EA had higher then a 2.77 in the LSD range. NC/NF/NL went to 3.23 and 3.28, then NL concord had the 3.45 and wagons and some fairmonts got the 3.08LSD but remember locks and bumpers can be upgraded quite easily |

Never saw any DA-DC without electric seats...
And these seats are different to NA-NC as well.

i had the same seats in my EA and everyone told me they were from an LTD
i thought the laines seats weren't quite as fancy? they were fkn comfy seats, just wish they had have put some bolstering on the sides of the fronts

all good points about the seats, but looking at the bolts and I checked for electrical wires, all looks original.
The locks and ignition barrel were out of and EB I think, cos the car had previously been broken into and the door locks didn't match the ignition. regarding bumpers and handles, they don't look dodgey home painted, so maybe done professionally? no idea lol cheers for the feedback anyways guys spud. |

Both DA LTD's I had had electric seats..
And the style of the stitch pattern are different between the DA and DC / NA and NC, every Fairlane and LTD I've ever seen had different style seats. And the velour pattern indicates it's from a lower model, like a Fairmont, the LTD's had solid velour not that checker styling. But I haven't seen every interior so I may be wrong.. And both DA's I had that didn't have Smartlock (1988 & 1989) had an X series style ignition barrel. The Smartlock barrels have an incline sort of thing towards the key hole. The non Smartlock ones are flatter. DA1/EA1's got the Warner 3spd boxes, and Smartlock was introduced in the EBII/late EBI's. But it definitely has a Smartlock type key barrel.. Don't want to sound like an a**hole mate but everything I've read or heard about suggests that what I said was accurate. But who cares, minor details like those aren't too important, the important thing is it's LWB
