Hey guys, got bored 2nite so i though i would post up what i have done to my AU 3 XR6
i bought it about 6 months ago
just your standard XR6, with ninja star mags, stock exhuast etc
a picture is below

{DESCRIPTION}

and just like any ford lover, i wanted it to be quicker , louder and unique!

so i first started of a K & N panel filter then with the a custom cold air induction, i used a holesaw to cut a 60mm whole in the bottom of my airbox and with some conduit i got from bunnings, i rigded up a custom CAI to sneek in behind my XR headlights and poke out secretly behind my grill, which can be seen in the photos below,

{DESCRIPTION}

{DESCRIPTION}

{DESCRIPTION}

i then got an XR6T snorkle from ford for $40 and whilst installing this i sprayed my CAI black, so it didnt stand out as much,

{DESCRIPTION}

after a few weeks i had saved enough up to go and pick myself up a 2.5" redback exhaust from my local exhaust shop, i decided to go with the DD tip and later that afternoon i got my windows tinted 30% for a bargain price of $180 from SOLARTINT, lifetime warranty etc

i am extremely happy with the note/ sound it makes, no drone nothing! :D

{DESCRIPTION}

then a month or so passed buy and i was itching for something new to do to my car, i had recently gone to a few of my first fordmods meets, and i saw how good everyones fords looked i went and got my self some 18' ROH flash rims to try and fit in with the crowd 8-)
i believe they set the car off nicely

{DESCRIPTION}

now as i have 2moro off i will be doing some interior work
painting some panels to a matching gunmetal/metallic colour to go with the center console i will post up some pics when done

i have quite a few more mods to go :wink: , ie extractors, hi flow cat, sound system , cam etc, and i will post up pics as i build it up, but due to rego i dont think i will be doing much over the next month, thanks for looking guys

StrawbZ 8-)

Looks really nice, that DD tip suits the AU really well, now you need some extractors.

So finally an update
i got a bit tired with the usual yellow light look of the odometer and intruments, so i decided to go for a blue led look, so i hit up my local autobarn and got some t5 led blue globes, removed my old globes and inserted the new blue leds, pictures are below

I believe the look quite nice, and go with the blue foot lights i also put in :)
Then being young and wanting a nice sound system, i went down to Car Audio Excellence and puchased myself a Fusion Reactor Pack, this included a boxed twin 100w 12 inch Subs and 1000w Amp plus wiring for $400, i had a kenwood cd player hanging around from my sisters boyfriend, so i put that in too. The boot can be seen below, i have actually carpeted the false floor in black carpet but dont seem to have a photo :(

That is all for now, i have to go to bed, but i have many photo's to take tomorrow to show my updates

Thanks StrawbZ

Yea thats an old photo, i actually got some clear needles fitted at a place in St Marys and now they can be seen, was really hard at first so originally i used some white touch up paint on the needles to help see them =)

So i took some more photos today show what else has been done, the car now sits nice and low on some king springs with shortened shocks

{DESCRIPTION}

Then the other day i hit up the local pick and payless at blacktown to have a look around and i managed to find a nice AU LTD there, so i got some chrome door handles, black leather t-bar and some chrome window rubbers. Installed them all and they look quite nice :)

{DESCRIPTION}

{DESCRIPTION}

As you can see in the last photo it doesnt go all the way back, the LTD doors a slighty different so i had to cut them short to fit.

Also while i was at pick and payless i picked up some BA scuff plates, and a while back i got some plastic XR6 plates. They can be seen below

{DESCRIPTION}

Set it off nicely 8-)

Then just two weeks ago i got some stuff from fordmods member rushed (great bloke). A polished thermostat housing and ISC. He is also doing me a polished rocker cover as i write :)
I also ordered myself a polished radiator overflow tank off Ebay. This can be seen below

{DESCRIPTION}

{DESCRIPTION}

{DESCRIPTION}

As it can be seen int he first pic a have a polished intake pipe which i got of FASTXR a while back, i also got one of his throttle bodies too, they work well together to give a little more pick up.
You can also see that i have acquired extractors since last time. They have given me a very nice sound and nice throttle response. That is all for now. I will post up pics when i get the polished rocker cover, but i think that i will wait till i get my cam and head package till i put it on, ive been looking at getting the CMS stage 2 head package.

Thanks StrawbZ
