next week is the last outing for the ea as a manual as im fitting a stalled c4 in it to handle the new engine mod thats making its way under the bonnet soon. Im not sure what time it should run at wsid next week but hoping its a 14.75 to 15.00 as my old xh xr6 manual run a 15.00 and they fill about the same to drive..

well been quiet on the home front for nearly the last year with just the ba (missus car) and myself been a full time motorbike rider but car bug has been bitting again for last few months and have been looking around for a steel bumper car of some sort. So with my dad on the look out for me down around wagga way and beyond we have a list together of what we have found so far-
5x xb's 500's to fairmonts
2x xc ute and sedan
3x xr/xt's sedans and ute plus another 3 utes sitting in a paddock else where
3x xw/xy's xy wagon,xw ute and xy sedan

all the cars are just sitting around or with other cars lined up on farms so just got to work out what i want and go see some people if they want to sell them or not and go from there  .
Plan is 351,c4,9' to start off with other idea's and plans later on.
Got new daily hack turning up this week being ef wagon on gas for some towing work that is coming up and new job transport up the valley thru roo infested country..

bought ef gas wagon for running to and from work as its 165km round trip each and wasnt to fuss about doing on the bike. Monday week ago i turned into the end of the street and cough cough dead !!! mmm not good so pulled up and rang the missus to come down so we could tow it upto the house. While i was waiting pop the bonnet as i could smell hot engine oil so looked down and smashed timing cover mmm not good, got it home and it had snapped the timing and punched no2 intake lifter thru the top of the rocker arm lol looking down i could see most of the teeth were shredded off the aux shaft gear so lifted the head and 1,5,6 exhaust valves were stuck open about 10mm and the pistons had witness marks on all of them. Didnt have much luck finding a ef motor so started looking at au engines and notice ash one for sale with some crash damage on it so rang him and had a chat about and bought it. Changed over the broken bits and tapped the crossmember in abit (10-15mm) and ground the ridges off the front of the sump and fitted up now worries. Big power jump and just need to fit my xr6 ecu and rpm switch now.So the ebay special $380 ef gas wagon lives again after 3 trips to melboure from wagga with car float on and 3 trips wagga to newy with the float plus few trips to sydney as well plus driving 800kms to and from work a week. Got to say cant believe how much smoother the au engine is over the ef motor too..

so heres the new member to the garage, was thinking about it before mick bought it off mark 18mths ago then thought about it when mick had it for sale last year then i got hold of mick and the deal was done for it as i wanted another v8 and still wanted a wagon so made sense. Havent done much too it since thursday arvo just broke the gearbox friday morning with no 3rd or 4th gear anymore lol put new set of leads on and fitted au maf on it up. I will just fit another auto for now and think about a manual down the track as got to drive a very tidy eb xr8 manual yesterday and got the manual bug again..

Looking good Phill, while it was sad to let it go, I'm glad it got to stay in the FM community so I can see it evolve.
Any luck finding another box? The wife didn't believe me when I told her what happened. She really did baby the old girl. Look forward to seeing it back to manual....I think it was trying to tell you something
