Heres my old wagon i sold a while ago and just bought it back yesterday. Now the problem is its a 12/83 so im going to have put it on lpg and maybe engineer it too when i fit the v8.
At the moment its a 200ci auto with a/c and no power steer but its a v8 shell with hydraulic clutch hole and not cable hole as most later xe's ive seen..

I've got a 351,fmx out of a zh fairlane,302 roller cam windsor or 302 clevo with open chamber heads to go with the big turbo ive got laying around to put in but unsure of which way to go yet..any ideas peoples but has to be able to pass engineers for rego

Tidy looking wagon mate.
For engineers it will be disc brake rear , V8 front springs and straight LPG.
Are you even going to bother transfering the rego on this one? You will sell it before the next one is due...............

I dont see any issues with a 302C fitted. Hell they were an option, and as stated it has the correct firewall for the correct clutch. Should pass with flying colours, but will need all the emmission gear for an 83 XE 302. The last of the 302C was in 83 so i dont see it being a real pain in the butt.

I thought the last was November 82.
If it was 83 there will be no issue at all.

Rang my rego man today and had a chat with him about the wagon and then rang the RTA technical line as well and got the same answer..

As long as it has a 83 model clevo block with emission gear on its right for fuel no questions asked..

So with this good news im stuffed :( as most 83 models are mostly ESP and ex chasers so theres not alot of them around

LTD's and a few Fairlanes were V8 even after the official cutoff of November 82.
Talk to the F100 wreckers. There was a lot of F trucks and Bronco's in that model that were 351. My bro had a December 84 one with 351 Clevo factory fitted.
The problem with building your roller Windsor block is that due to it coming out of a late model car it requires a feedback LPG system to pass , because that motor originally had a O2 sensor.
So you will basically need to run an EFI setup with a gas computer........................

Now you can see why mine got chucked in the too frigging hard basket.

EB-EL windsor. It will fit and they are dime and a dozen. Parts are plentiful and while performance isn't cheap for the windsor, it's readily available. Engineer will probably get happy too with it being EFI.

Probly would be the best thing for it but I'm over efi and want a carby so I don't have to worry about what I do in engine work and how the computer will take it....
