Will be up there around lunch time/early afternoon Mick.
We can have a Boat owners picnic.................
Yeah I have done a bit of stunt driving in the old girl since I got it and in the wet they are definately not as nimble as a short wheel base to through around.
Locker diff and more power should help that but!

I dont think there is any is there?
Wonder what the difference between XR and boat is?
If I wasnt so lazy I would go out onthe driveway and pull some kick panels off and check the catchcodes between the two.
If the XR one had more aggressive timing maps etc by any chance it would be a good thing to have in it.

I honesty reckon the biggest improvement would be to send the old boat off to Jenny Craig for an extended session.
But in saying that the little MSD birthday it copped this afternoon has made a small yet very noticeable difference.

Just a cap and rotor set for the standard TFI dizzy. Also grabbed the Blaster TFI coil. Got 2 lots so the XR8 will be getting a birthday too...........................
Next on the list will be MSD leads , but I had a brnad new set of topguns so used them at the moment. Also have to get myself a MSD 6AL control box. They now do a patch lead that is a direct over the counter item to hook it straight into the EEC5 and TFI ignition on Fords. Totally plug and play.

As a Fellow Boat owner i can tell you, that i have an XR8 ecu in mine it works fine but i'm not sure if it goes better or if it goes better for resetting the ECU by taking one out then relearning as they do. funnily enough i bought it from the guy that now runs EVL0908 plates! i'm hoping to get down to the Summernats otherwise i might've floated up tha way too for the boatshow!

The ECU you bought would of come out of a dark green XR8.
The guy doesnt just run our old plates , that blue Fairmont of his is our old car!
He put the XR8 front on it. I mist say but the car was in MUCH better condition when we had it. I still miss the old girl and hate seeing it get around. :(

Yeah i couldn't remember if it was Falcon Fairmont or XR they all seem to look the same to me! i didn't look too closely as i was at his work picking up the ECU. thought it needed some TLC.

Yeah at the truck place.
That car used to be immaculate. Sadly now it is pretty rooted.

My first Fairlane was a vintage burgundy 1968 ZB,(images in my gallery) and i had a guy come up to me at All Ford Day one time and he asked me if i used to own it, as he knew where it was - apparently his mate bought it and stuck it a**-first into a telegraph pole at over 100k's, he reckoned the p/s taillight was just behind the drivers seat! i declined the offer to go see it

How much did the cap and rotor set you back? And where did you get it? I'm after both, as mine are shagged and i don't want to just replace it with the same items, but new.
