DIY WINDSCREEN INSTALL
Heres a quick demo on how to install your front or back windscreen or rear quarter glasses. Firstly youll need 2 people to do this job, i had a go at it by myself and it prooved to be quite difficult. The tools you will need are 1x Black Sika Flex sausage tube, Sika Flex Gun, Sika Primer (206 G+P), Some old rags, Prepsol, Razor Blade, An old blanket to cover your boot lid or bonnet, Paint Brush and a drink of your choice (optional) Please note: Try and do this out of the sun and under a shed or garage, as the suns heat will make the sika flex go off if your not quick enough to put the glass on. Step 1: Clean the edges of the car where the Sika Primer will be going with a clean rag and Prepsol as shown: Step 2: Apply the Sika Primer on with a paint brush, make sure you have a rag damped by prepsol to quickly clean up any spills that may be noticed after the glass is in. (note: the primer will go off quickly in humid/hot conditions): Step 3: With your razor blade clean the old glue off the windscreen. Clean with prepsol and then apply the Sika Primer on to the glass. (note: in the factory I noticed that the windscreens had no primer on there, however in my interest i decided to add it there for peace of mind, up to you what you choose to do here). Step 4: Apply the Sika Flex on the windscreen, Try and keep one single even beed of glue around the hole edge and try and go over where the original glue was. Its helpful to have a stand or bench for this, as you can see I am povo and had to use the lawn. Once again what ever is eaziest for you: Step 5: Carefully place glass on to the vehicle. Try and line the top conors up and the rest should fit eazily, dont forget to add your top and bottom moulds in either. To eliminate any glue getting on your hands you can choose to use suction caps to help place the windscreen on. Step 6: Once glass is alligned use the palm of your hand to beat the glass along the edges so direct contact with the glue, glass and vehicle is met. Once complete use your rag and prepsol to wipe the glass the paint work and gaps of any unwanted glue: You are now complete.

Nice work dude, i would have f**k that up for sure. The seals around my rear windscreen have become brittle and are perishing quite bad, do you get the seal with the windscreen or is it something that you have to purchase from Ford?

Hey dude, well iam using the old windscreen and my old moulds are no good. Iv been on the hunt for a new mould kit on the internet but so far have no luck. Iam going to try a few local windscreen shops around town, Iam sure you can buy an aftermarket kit instead of going threw ford. Will let you know.

Not to be a wet blanket here, but won't all these engine mods require some ECU reprogramming/modifying by a tuning company?

I asked because I know of people putting in new cams and adding this and that, only to find it runs worse because the management system is all factory. |

here are some pics of the test fitment eaton m112 supercharger , 80mm billet throttle body
these will require extending or replacment of the throttle cable on later models but gives you the idea as the eaton m112 svt is one of the largest style m112 you can see the concept can be adapted to other models like kenne bell , whipple ect Attachment: 100_0040s.JPG Attachment: 100_0038s.JPG Attachment: 100_0037s.JPG

^^^ Very nice pictures SNORT, but maybe you could start your own thread about them and simply point us to the thread?
Bloody good looking manifold thing so far though! Would save a lot of people an awful lot of work. |
